clone labs mkii (basic research)

this research will increase your population by 10%. the number of people required to man your ships unlike in clone labs mki will not increase the mp of everyship by 1 but instead, increase it by 12% and rounded down. in this way class 1 and 2 based fleets are made more worthwhile.

mathematical mumbo jumbo:

so the new mp is: old mp x 112/100

ships of over 8 mp get a penalty of 1 extra mp.

ships of over 16 mp get a penalty of 2 extra mp

ships of over 24 mp get a penalty of 3 extra mp

by the time you reach the cruisers at 60 mp the required mp is 67


therefore if your average mp per ship is less than 42 than this research is worth while

(with the clone labs mki your mp per ship has to be over 10 to be worthwhile)

Could it be this is an invention from a multi

It sure looks like it don't bother inventing ships just send all your mp in 1 fleet to my base

I actually invented it :p I thought how could clone labs benefit users of the lower classes?? Farmers wouldn't really benefit from this.

i see the issue of manpower is still debated
i must admit though,
this invention makes sense.
but
it should not be accumilative with the normal clone labs.

although i doubt this will be added

I don't think it would be added with the normal clone labs... it wouldn't make much sense as it would cause problems for both class 1 and 3, the only fleet you could use successfully would be class 2 only....

for the sake of keeping mp down

think:
starting mp = 5300
+ 10% (clone labs)
= 5830
+ 10% (clone labs mkii)
= 6413 (estimate)

as you said, only use with class 2
1000 eagles = 4000
to
1500 eagles = 6000
+ 320 (mothership)
+ 60 (cruiser)
overall:

6380mp (used)

to me that fleet is to powerful...apollos will eat it alive, but most people use upto 13-14 apollos.
there are other ways to defeat the fleet (doomstars, bounty hunter/fighter fleets)

but no

if this is added
then you have to choose between clone labs or clone labs mkii

OK , But all these multi's think " the more ships the better " that's why I thought it was a multi invention

Still I hope it won't be put into the game

The point I mean is they don't understand the game but just go for the more ships thing . more ships = more score

BTW don't give them hints on how to become a good scoring multi , just shoot them before they shoot themself

i dont really like the clone labs as much and i dont really like this one...

nobody really uses the clone labs... really only n00bs get this cause they think its all that and its a wonderful invention...

now i know this is a little bit different but i still dont like it cause i thinkthat people will like it until.. they find out that its actually not as great as they thought...

i dont really like clone labs and i think this is another way for people trying to munipulate Spacetrace and make it better but when it actually doesnt...
