bio cruiser (class 3 ship)


a cruiser that attacks using highly toxic chemical/biological weapons that erode away the hull of 40 enemy class 3 ships but since it´s wepons are highly toxic it also effects your nearby ships by eroding the barrels of the cannons rducing the ap of 10 class 3 ships by 1

manpower: 200

researchtime: 1 d
buildingtime: 12 h

(battle engine syntax: f)
modifies AP/LP by 0/-50 of 40 ships of any ship-type in the enemy fleet in class 3

(battle engine syntax: mod,enemy,40,3,all,+,0,-50, ships poisoned)
modifies AP/LP by -1/0 of 10 ships of any ship-type in your own fleet in class 3
(battle engine syntax: mod,self,10,3,all,+,-1,0)

wait y did u do two seperate things syntaxes for killing 40 cl3 ships? y not just do -100 to 40 cl3 ships?

This looks like a cool ship. To balance it out though you need to drop the 0 on 40 ships. 50 lp x 4 is 200. Maybe you could melt down 5 ships to give some advantage and help off set the damage your own fleet takes but that is only 10 ap.


Of course I know nothing about inventing as I probably just proved !

I just read my earlier post and it almost makes sense to me.
What I'm trying to say is................

the damage inflicted to an enemy ship and the mp cost to the builder should be somewhat equal I think or have some sort of offset via a vulnerability.

I think this ship would be cool if it did damage of 50 lp to about 5 enemy ships. As it stands now, for 200 mp to build, this ship can do around 2000 lp of damage. This does not factor in the 100 lp of the ship itself. Dropping your own ap by 1 on a ship that inflicts 100 damage is almost insignficant.

If someone with more experience would contribute a practical explanation of what makes a ship balanced and things to look for when building a ship, it would help new ship builders in thier designs.
Just dumping on someone's ship because it is imbalanced does not help much to the builder in improving thier "craft"

wow i have too say this is a very cool ship kinda a addition too teh swankbuster unit that with cruisers, hammer and plasmas would tear apart a swank i like it

on the contrary it is highly signifigant since it means it can no longer destroy a cruiser when it shoots meannig in aclass 3 battle it is useless against most of the ships and yes it does do a lot of damage but it is distributed throughout the emnemy class 3 fleet and doesn't actually destroy any ships through that

all this explaining makes me feel smart LOL

I guess your right Like I said....I don't know diddly-squat about ship building. I still think its a cool ship though.

After C3 battle there will be no more battle so your damage doesnt exist anymore in the next battle , only if it is shot it will cost you 200 points

omg, if you have 3 these versus 40 enemy cruisers, you will loose 1 or 2 ships and enemy will loose 40 cruisers

-200 + 2400 = +2200 if you get initiative first or
-400 + 2400 = +2000 if enemy get initiative first

average +2100 points per battle

Also it directly attack c3 even if it fights from c1 battle, like plasma gunship does.

It is highly unbalanced, and if we balance it like damage to 2 and damage goes to class ships it fights then the manpower should go down, but then it will be very similar to

cloud cruiser :
attack/life: 50/100
manpower: 80
mycilloid-technology

fights
(battle engine syntax: f)
modifies AP/LP by 0/+1 of 4 ships of any ship-type in both fleets in the same class
battlemessage: "clouding cruiser reduced visibility of ... ships"

how about you can only have 1 in your fleet or they selfdestruct?
