i think you just have to keep it simple, it's a good thing for the noobs and keeping it simple is always a key for succes! (a good sample is the last round when there where a lot players and that means the game is doing good!) i just started over again and i have 3 neighbours, 1 is cloaked, 1 will be cloaked and the third is active.
new ships are good but not on planets where they are hard to get for the weaker players/alliances.
i also think we have to go a step back.

@ Jam. Your solution will not work.

2 rounds and the rest evalution.
2 rounds is 6 months, what left? 6 months. So the evalution will be rounds too.

But i think it is a good point not atacking only noobs. You can attack them, but not over and over again. I think, make your own goals. Attack the good players/alliances. Declare war to allainces. Make it the good players difficult with war. So the noobs can learn of the good players about fleet setups.

Actually, I like Jam's idea, but maybe it should just be 1 round every year and evolution for the rest of the time. Then the titles could be Ruler/top alliance of year 20** or winner/top alliance or something like that.

I didn't say that a round takes 3 months, did I
You could make it 2 months and make everything 3/2 faster.
Or make it 1 in a year.
Don't make a side issue the main point.

You don't see the point, making points is not only a issue about attacking noobs, that's the way YOU think points are made, not everybodys.

we dont need more póints and solutions we only need the old game.
I was the first to say that. The game is getting an itinerary, so i dont like it, maybe admins can to say the game is good like this, bt ithink the only solution is vote, if there are more players that likes the old way game, so lets make the old way game the reality, and erase all the new things, even chronoton, gravitation, etc. if anybody wants the news ships so it is a desition of the admin to put them in tec three.(300)

Sorry to open this old topic, but i just wanted to say something about the realism of this game.
I mean one thing that i like and dislike is the actual battles, they last for what? 2-3 seconds before you get a battle report?
Perhaps if the battle were to last longer a few minutes at least maybe 4 minutes? A minute for each class.
You would watch a bar at the top right corner that says your class 1 and on the left hand corner the enemies class 1. Whichever bar drops to zero first loses,
The same thing happens with the other classes. After this the battle-report is sent to you.
And to please people who don't have time to watch the battle a skip option would be cool.

After this, perhaps admin could proceed to add more things maybe show a few class1 ship pictures while the class 1 battle is happening?
I dont know how hard this would be to program, but i know that it would make all the difference and would attract more players to the game.

233 players are active, that is a drop of 47 players in two weeks. Something big must be added to spacetrace in order to keep people here. And i am sure that something like what i said above might do the trick.

Yeah your right methi........

spacetrace is getting a bit boring.....

if it were reviewed in a gaming mag it would say:

graphics: 0
gameplay: click, type, click, type!!!! 0
sound: 2 but have to download it!!!!!!

That of the pictures and graphics improvement sounds stupid to me, but to attract new players its lovely.
Guess what, thats where we are talking about........ so i say add that.

What methi said is great, cause u could even should have the option to quite the battle. So whyle battle is busy, you should send away your fleet.

Example: class2 has been fighting for 40 seconds. It is going bad for u. So u send away your fleet and they leave as soon as class batlle is over.

No, sorry for all of this, cause in this case u could just make a superiour full class1 fleet and kill other class1 and class2 and when class3 comes, u could run away.

But to continue on serious talk, yes it indeed is a great idea. Is is nice if u want to see how batlles really work.

But if u want to attract new players:

1 Better graphics.

2 Standard music included.

3 Make propaganda over the whole world. I
myself have attracted a few players from my
school, but only one stayed after a week,
the others stopped.

I hope for myself that the downfall is just a decreasing number of multis, but i fear it is otherwise, people leave because they are getting bored or they are sick of multis.

that's not what he ment, he ment you can stop looking at the bars, not quitting the fight to retreat, right?? It's just to skip watching the fight

Thank you Darthmother for being smart enough to realise that.
What i meant is you "watch" the battle, and if you are in a hurry to go to school or something, you can stop watching it and just get the battlereport.
If you do not quit then you will "see" your battle and when the class 4 is over,
you will receive the battle-report
