heya. don't remember you, but nice to see old faces nevertheless.
admins are still the same, but they are not as active anymore.
some oldies should still be around. Zaphod is the only one from as early as 2002 i believe. from 2003, there's me, and i believe BlackMagic and Shade are also lurking around. but that's rumours.
check out this thread while you're at it. lots of old (f)aces there.

Same admins as far as I knpw unless they've regenerated into David Tennant that is
I doubt you'll find many back as far back as 2002. You may remember me, WiliamWallace who has now regenerated into RobertRoy, T2 perhaps and Mighty unfortunately is still lurking around. DaveAlan and Renee are here and they've got married. Colin you might remember also. Oh and who can forget shade. Senor and blackmagic too as you've seen.
Other than that everyone from the past is gone. Deathkiller, Dutchbatter, Kamekaze, Metody, Lady Turiana, Gorthmog and many more have sadly left. Stil have contact with a few though if you want me to drop off a message
But welcome back old man. Its been a long time since the old rounds. _________________ "Although the constant shadow of certain death looms over everyday, the pleasures and joys of life can be so fine and deeply affecting that the heart is nearly stilled by astonishment" - Dean R Koontz |

Welcome back to Spacetrace.
As you can see, the game has dwindled to a measily 105 players. It's my opinion the game should be locked for the only 'real' players out there. The rest are either multies or noobs whom will never learn the game because it's either too difficult or too small.
If you want to know more about ST, just talk to me on IRC sometime, I'm bound to be on there. I'm the only one who ever goes on the damn thing. Exept for spacebot, that is. _________________

Hey, first of all, thank you all for the replys.
MicroJak: I will probably give you a visit soon on the irc, back on the old days it used to be the same, no one joined... is spacebot as boring as always ? (just kidding)
mjx1: I think i found you familiar and I remember WiliamWallace , but you know, years have pased and I never had the best memory in my group . I also remember Colin (still playin?), and blackmagic, but again my memory is not the best. Thank you for all the updates on them.
If you still have contact with them, maybe ask them if they want to join a round and play again some time, i think it would be fun
Senor: Nice about the admins been the same... if they read this and send me a msg it would be a nice surprise.
To all:
Sorry if i forgot about some of the names in the game, but most of you guys changed names in every freaking round!!!! . Maybe I would play in a little wihile and try to bring a couple of friends with me... Im now reading the manual and i can see that some things have changed and new ships have borned, looks interesting.
Its sad that we are still dealing with multis (about noobs i will not complain , so many years have pased and we are still deadling with the same problems, back in the days the problems was multis and a new server for spacetrace =] |

Well, it's time for merriment and celebration indeed!
A vet coming _back_ instead of leaving is like getting payed interest for borrowing money
I'm getting a bit frustrated that we have the by far most balanced and well-paced free on-line game of this type here, but such trouble recruiting. I am going to make some sort of effort to build a demo graphical battle report thing. It's been ages since I did any serious programming so I'll probably be yelling for help after a while
Anyway, the game is quite smooth and nice now, so no reason to have any trouble with recruiting apart from the "intellectually challenging" entry-ticket (you have to get a mentor or actually read the forum and manual )
I think the main obstacle is for newbs to understand what actually happens in the battles. This should give them a good idea of fleet set-ups and research planning.
This in turn should lead to more targets for the vets, which, of course, is the real purpose behind it all _________________ Running the P since 2007 |
