Those back to back to back logins are from switching accounts on the computer with different tabs and evvery time you switch you have to log back in.

Hey All... How was everyone's Christmas... anyways... to the point...

Admin and players...

Just a question for you all... where do we drawl the line for multiple players on one IP address??? Here's a thought that was implimented in the old game that I used to play... because we noticed that the Multi counts were going up and up with the abuse of this loop-hole... We stated that if more then one account was played from the same IP that they could NOT play within the same alliance as the other accounts from the same IP... this helps by limiting down the number of "multiple players" having multiple accounts from one IP address...

This is just a suggestion... as I have and am starting to see this 'loop-hole' being abused... and with my past experience - this is very helpful ...

i'd say he's a multy, but when i started ST i also played from the same IP with my brother. If they stop the account sharing then let them play until something else comes up.

inform them account sharing is illegal and they will be deleated if they continue with it

contact She of Dark Wisdom and see if she does indeed know them and ask her what she makes of the alergations and ask her to keep an eye on them

keep scan of IPs if its just the case of they were using the one computer this once there should be at least three ips in use all other times (assumig brother and sister live together)

indeed there habits of same, spelling, word use and punctuation is fishy but we have little other evidence against there claim and we dont want to ban 4 assumidly legit players who also apparently have connections with a vet

I have just sent an ingame message response to him that I would like to see all 4 of them showing online at the same time in game. He stated that the 'all on 1 IP was just for that one day' so I figured he'd be able to coordinate something to show them all online at the same time if they are from different computers (IPs) now as he is related to them all.

Being a very hard one to convince of the possibilty of an entire family devoted to lining up in front of a single pc (father, mother, son, sister, dog, cat, etc...) and all logging on to thier st accounts I am much easier to convince that the entire family is rather a twisted conncoction of some demented personalities (note the plural on that one).
However there may be a few actually stupid enough to believe this I doubt it.

IMHO. MORE THAN 2 on a single IP is very suspicious and if you are doing 2 and not just one you should inforrm all of st you are doing so and who with.

ok so here's something...

They all 'attempted' to log in together to prove that they weren't multies... I seen 3/4 online together - the exception was dauphin - BUT - I somehow received messages from all 4 of them within a very close time period... anyone know how you could send a message without your little astirk being green? I'm thinking possible use of Proxy Servers...

EDIT - Here is their messages - all sent at the same exact time but the weird thing was dauphin wasn't shown as online

i agree with Zaphod and if they have proved that they can be online on different IPs at the same time then we should give a verdict of innocent and keep an eye on them after the holidays to make sure there IP story checks out

we should give them a warning about sharing passwords but like zaphod said noobs make mistakes

but other than that id like to welcome you four (assuming now you are four different people) and say play fair, make friends, have fun

Regardless if it's 1 person or 4 new players, please don't steal the candy from the baby.
In other words, don't rape these new players for every point they have.
Doing that just encourages multiple accounts and despite it offering a wonderful opportunity for an experienced player to rack up a healthy score, it does encourage multiple accounts in the new players attempt to get even.

I'm not saying don't touch the new player(s) as they need to battle asap to retain and cultivate interest in the game but even if you can...don't clean them completely out without at least pointing out how you were able to do it and how the "victim" could have configured themselves for better protection.
As most of you know, it takes a while to grasp the battle sequences in ST.

If these new player(s) have a little fun... perhaps one or 2 will continue the game beyond the initial curiosity phase.
Remember...it's all our jobs to foster a larger player base as ultimately, it makes the game better for all of us.
