I've been noticing something - hopefully just over analyzing...

when I first came to the game I was pretty welcomed... then I became a better player and fast... reaching TOP 10 in first EVO... wanting and willing to learn the game... yes some of my points came from bashing a newb who was fighting back... and in turn I got bashed by VETS... I've seen several VETS bashing newbs around some to the point of even quiting...

I'm just trying to gather where the happy medium is for new players to actually be welcome into this game by the VETS... how are new players supposed to stick around when they get beat up over and over again???

2 usual scenarios:

Newbs join... either get beat up by VETS for inactivity because they don't know about activity requirements or they continuly get beat up by VETS because they don't know what to do or how to defend...

- or -

If they are eager and learn fast - the VETS hit them before they are far enough into EVO to have any good defensive ships... (remember they are still learning and noone knows right off the bat what to research)

either way it's a win win for the VETS and most Newbies will quit... so I ask again were is this happy medium at?

Hit the newb. Send him a msg of what happened and welcome him to the game. Offer assistance to help him stack his fleet or a pointer that might help him grasp the game concepts better.
Come back a week later and hit him again
Repeat above advice.

90% of VETS don't offer advice and attack more then once a week... and... what would make a newbie wanna stay if their base gets leveled??? Loss of the DA is horrible if your in early evo...

Well, I'm a newb, but to be honest, I'd be a whole lot worse if my alliance and I hadn't started fighting with vets. Yes, we were attacked first, but we rebuilt and fought back and got a lot better. I think the best thing is to make sure you join an active alliance right away, so that they can give you backup if you need it.

Who cares , Vets like to tell noobs what to do , also they hate noobs for taking easy points cause they think they have the right to do so . Just take as much points as you can either from Noobs or Vets that is what it is all about High scores just tell the Noob what happend maybe he understands his br's and learn from it , and don't keep leveling his buildings without the posibillity to rebuild ships

I have this tenacious noob attacking me. He always comes back for more. So I've been owning him for a week or so, and he doesn't give up (I don't think he attacks anyone else).

This type of behaviour should be rewarded, so I recently offered him the possibility of getting advice. We'll see if he wants it or not.

exactly, go for the points, not the buildings!...that's what i do, except for the DA, that one i try to destroy, it's easier for the next attack
if you guys think about it, it makes no sense destroying the buildings (unless you really dislike the other guy!! ) specially over and over again!! let the buildings be and gain points off the ships
