|
|
In the past when I attacked usually with two fleets, I send one fleet in before the other. On occaisions when I noticed that I did not need the full complement of ships in my second fleet I would move both fleets off to one side, move the non-required ships to the second fleet and then send it in.
However I recently tried this tactic but it did not work:
i.e.
-Fleet 1 had already battled target
-Fleet 2 had yet to battle, too many fighters and cruisers in this fleet
...........therefore moved them into fleet 1.
-Sent both battles to target: Fleet 1 should not attack but fleet 2 should
-HOWEVER
NO BATTLES!
:Can anyone say what went wrong? _________________ Darkfire

I think you hit with 1 fleet move to 1 sector switch ships between fleets , but if you move ships from the fleet that had a battle to the fleet that didn't this fleet will get a battlepauze aswell as the other , so never move ships that allready battled to a fleet that didn't battle _________________ Greetz Connor

Nope I know this mistake so I made sure I only moved ships from the fleet which had NOT had a battle to the fleet that had battle target already (did not want those particular ships in second attack). That was the reason for the post. Was querying was this a bug? _________________ Darkfire

thats a smart idea
but i believe any interaction between the 2 fleets would give you a battle pause
and that might b just fair game ... not sure if you could call i a bug!
than again i have never tried that so if i wouldn't know for sure.. few situations call for such strategy .. _________________

so you just build one super fleet that deals with everything? This is ST no mass armie game so this tactic is,if you want to be somewhere good in this game, neccesity.
Sparky as far as I know and in my expirience there wasnt nor did I have BP bug. However many times I made stupid mistake of transferig ships that all ready battle to the nonbattled fleet thus making BP.This ussually happens when you use extended fleet control, you make the switch and then send fleets somewhere and all ships will be moved again(well what ships are left) so here can it be what went wrong. In any case think hard what you did couse it takes only one nano and you have BP on your hands. Also note when did BP started,if second attck fleet has same time battle pasue time as first attacking wave then you know the fault was on you.If there is time diffirence thou well then it can be something wrong.
Hope I made some sence with this post

Mmmm thought long and hard
No I dont think I made that mistake that way. I wanted to save some ships from my second fleet because there was another incoming at target. So totally newships in second fleet. And old and newships in fleet 1.
The only thing I can think of was that bit about BP timing Failtrip/Marlito.
I sent both fleets back to the target together. Could this have caused a BP in both fleets?

OK noob question where is the time of battle pause??
I cant see it in the BR or history.
Or do you mean the time between battles at the bottom of ur fleet screen?
If so both fleets had the same time till next battle: Battle Pause _________________ Darkfire

Yes its under fleet meu. There it says what your fleet is doing ATM deffending etc.
If times for both fleets are the same i guess you made something wrong.Couse otherwise times in fleet 1 and 2 wouldnt be the same.
I guess you attacked with one fleet go back 1 sec reshuffled fleets and went back to attack again. That took you 1 hour so if something weird happened your fleet that allready battled should say fleet 1 has 22h of battle pause to go while for the other one it wuld say 23.But since you maybe overlooked something you had 22h BP with both fleet. _________________ http://toptenproxysites.com/
