This is my new idea, based on a sort of rankings, as there is no real ranking system in ST, apart from ur number of rounds/evos. These are like courses u can take at the satrt of the game.

1: Class 1
2: Class 2
3: Class 3
4: Advanced
5: Communication and Alliance Tactics
6: War Tactics
7: Advanced Tactics Black
8: Advanced Tactics White

Out of this, you can get yourself a sort of grade, with the things you learned, with a score and stuff, and therefor, future alliances know where you are specialized in. You can complete multiple courses, and when ready, u get away and your completed camps+score is shown on your com screen.

Maybe even a special search can be added. These Camps should not be real alliances with the ability to get high scores, lose flags and stuff, only the last two should, and only for themselves. After completing about say 10-20 battles, you get a notice that you have completed the "tutorial" and can now get into the new world.

What about it? Good idea?

It's not a whole new world, just some courses you can take when you start the game. It will give you like a sort of ID with what ur specialized in.

Finding qualified instructors to take time out of the game to run these courses will be a major inhibitor to the plan.
good plan though . You never know !

The GW is working because it is an opportunity for everyone to have specific targets without incurring the wrath of some alliances in retailiation.

2. You get to fight against your own teammates.

3. You can announce to opponent of intent to attack. You try your hardest to win but if you lose...it don't hurt your home alliance score.

4. There is a specified time limit to hostilities.

5. You get to fight against other members of alliances you may have NAP's with.

6. The best battles can be pre-arranged where both opponents are online at the same time. These are the battles where both opponents learns something.

I dont like this idea that much.. too much the problem with it. Such as Im on my fourth evo, but doesnt mean that im better than some third evo-ers. Like my brother, definitely better than me and he is in third-quarter of his third evo..

your Rank also already based on your points.

But it would be neat to see somesort of ranking system in ST. But it needs to be decided a different way.

Lets see.. i joined a month later and have less post.... so does that mean im worse than KoT? no. definitely not.. He spams, not as much though anymore.

So someone could have 8 Evos under there belt but it doesnt mean that their some sort of awesome person. So i could see flaws in this rating system.

This is the counterpart of that system, that's why i made it, so that people are ranked better, altough this is not usefull for th emore expirienced players indeed.

It sounds rediculous, the game does have a rating system with the score. For experiance most people know who is a decent player. All of those who have been around for awhile and their name is popular. As for new people all they need to do is find a decent allaince and work with it. also reading the manual helps to. really all you need to do is read the section about all of the ships, then fight some battles, good place to find one is at a point planet. Then after you lost a few battles, or won a few, you should now how to play. Also read the full battle reports too. Also when you play keep an open mind about new fleet tactics to use, learn from your mistakes

Something that might work DD is a exam or test to rate people.
A muutiple choice format with questions asking for example:

"a single fleet of 1000 fighters 100 destroyers and 10 cruisers are parked at your neighbours base. What fleet will best deal with the threat ?"
....then give 4 possible fleet stacks and have the participant choose the best fleet to make the most points.
There was a forum game like that at one time. Look there for some questions
You can formulate the questions and answers and provide BR's as proof of the most right answer right at the Battle Simulator.
The effort would be enormous and time required to complete the same.

This would be possible to do however. With the questions getting progressively more difficult, 20 good questions should be able to categorize most players abilities

well, i find the annonamimnaty of spacetrace compelling, every battle you fight, every unknown you permitt in your alliance could either be another n00b or an overwhelming powerhouse of Tactical Glory, its the gamble thats compelling
