As you know, 4 fleets are allowed (base, 1, 2, and 3) Easily someone could attack with more ships, maybe your 2 fleets are away while he attacks with two of his. This would equate to more in that specific battle scenario. also, if you have 500 fighters and he has a mothership and 30 cruisers, you are seriously out manned. I doubt people always send everyone of their mps to a battle. (they have a base) so yes, battles can be un-even. that's not the problem. I merely stated that someone who had been playing since this age started would most likely have more research put into his fleet, thereofre giving him a tactical edge.

Actually i didnt misunderstand you.As you see there isnt a vet playing ATM who will attack someones empty base, its a thing of honour and one thing what makes someone a good and respected player.
I would really like if someone would attack me with 30 cruisers and i have 500 fighters.Because you see what happens in this battle is this...His 30 cruisers will kill your 30 fighters and your 500 fighters will kill his 4 cruiser. So you would won 210 points.
As for research, they mean little if you cant use them.As many good players(and statistic of ships you can find in your ST)will tell you that most used ships are basics(fighter, destroyer, cruiser).Couse you see every other researchable ship drags with it some sort of drawback that will be against you(example kamekaze kills 2 of your own ships)so in order to make a good fleet combo takes some knowledge. And yet there isnt any fleet in existance that cannot be killed.
Only advantage you have in this game is knowledge...game itself doesnt offer any advantage to anybody...
P.S.I always take hole of my MP with me.I never deffend base,if I get attacked I retailet, couse as i sad before.Attcking an empty base in peace time is considered an dishonuored and will be dealt apropriate. _________________ http://toptenproxysites.com/

tek, please learn more about the ships, no ship is more superior, and attacking som1 while their base is empty wouldn't make u more powerful, it would prob leave u vulnerable too because most ur mp would be attacking that base, so u can be countered easily
also, 30 cruisers? all i need is 1 cruiser and i win points. _________________ PWNAGE!

Tekkeron, I see what your point is.
However, Spacetrace is really somewhat like poker. Everyone gets five cards (equal mp), created out of a deck of cards (all possible ships). As a full house always beats three of a kind, an evaporator always beats a cyclops.
Where vets have the advantage over newer players is in being able to "read" an enemy fleet, based on past interactions with this player, class composition of enemy fleet coupled with race, and other sources.
As you play, you will learn how to more efficiently use your ships, to the point where you can battle many, many fleets before having to go home to rebuild.
Vets have no additional firepower, no stronger ships, and no material advantage at all over anyone. It can be like playing chess against Kasparov. His side of the board is identical to yours at the beginning of the game, but he knows what you are going to do before even you do. |

For every ship build with youre race, there will be a ship to counter that one, for example, u attack with a swank fleet, the most simple counter fleet is put 50 evaps against it, and u will lose ur Swank. _________________ !! TOTAL OWNAGE !! |

Tek , Your problem will be that a more experienced player will out smart you , because he knows some tricks/ combo's that will take out all your MP . If you have only standard ships you still can beat a fleet with higher researched ships , only thing is how do you stack your fleets to counter his.
BTW hello Achilles , how are you doing _________________ Greetz Connor

I've gotten alot of help from manual and certian very kind vets. Thnkx for sitting through my brief ignorant mode. I was used to E:2025 and Utopia so you can maybe fathom my complete incongruity with this new system. _________________ "The Glorious Harmony shall be obtained" |

In my last recese of ST i play both games i found them on MPPOGD(or something similar) and yes... those games are for entertainment and people that can be online all the day but this is not like that, is not by turns is real time and its not easy to understand. Well i think i am prety luckuy about ST, 4 years ago i started to play and was the first game on the internet i ever played, so i couldnt know about those masive empire senseless games on the web with thousends of player
(i am not menosprecing, but they say thats strategy and there is not somethign similar to ST)(free) |

The reason why i like ST is because, every one has the same time and ships to reach a hi-score. and if u dont play for few days it doesnt matter u will not fall behind with ur skills. Look at World Of Warcraft, there are multi farms in Japan. They put 40 computers in a room, with 100 players and they keep onplaying 24/7, so if a normal person likes to play the same game, how does he beaten these a guys??? a normal person cant be online for 24/7, work, hobby, family etc. thats why i like ST. _________________ !! the battle system is a nice, i played other space-games, with no battle-pause and that sucks. There u could build 10 fleets to attack one players. then ur fleets go back to base, u put new ships in ur fleet and fly back.
NO THANX
the battle system of ST is GOOD _________________ !! TOTAL OWNAGE !! |

yes it is a cool strategy game, but i hope that will be more players than now between 170-200 players. when i started it was about 300. But as long there is ST, there will be Imperial. _________________ !! TOTAL OWNAGE !! |
