Nukes are bad, they ruin the world, and they're not in halo. Halo is a FPS, it doesn't need any nukes. You just grab a gun and start shooting every Covenant and Flood you see.

your standing at a blast site about 1200 yards away from the explosion... you hear the count down... 3.. 2.. 1... then a moment of silence and all of the sudden this ear shattering boom just breaks the silence into a roar.. Your heart races, you see dirt just fly in the air about 300-450 yards.. the ground shakes, by ground shaking i mean not a g.ay little nudge but the ground lifts you in the air about 3 inches... all of this in a matter of about 12 seconds..

its a rush to me.. i like things that go boom.. and i wish to find bigger booms to satify my big boom needs... lol.. you guys probably think im nuts, and if you do, you like men..

In my opinion real war is bad. Unfortunately, on occassion, some zealot , head of state manages to convince "followers" to side with them in eradicating some other human being because they talk different, look different or act different.
Many medical advances are the byproduct of war and many technologies are also a result of war.
In WW2 the US developed the atomic bomb because Germany was reported to be researching the theoritical development of such a weapon. Germany was defeated before they could complete it. German Scientists such as Openheimer went on to actually make the development in the US. ( the manhatten Project. It is a contested fact that Little boy and Fat Man, the 2 bombs dropped on Japan actually spared lives as Japan had no intention of surrendering despite they were on a slow slide to defeat by this time in the war.
The power of the blast convinced Japan to surrender, something they vowed never to do. I guess they thought that allied soldiers would have to fight hand to hand eventually to defeat Japan and they would take equal numbers of allies troops down with them. The "bomb" showed Japan that this would not be the case and there was no fun in dieing alone .
To date, there has never been another atomic bomb detonated in anger against another country. Today's bombs are in the magnitude of 200x more powerful that the original bombs that shook the resolve of Japan.

It was also realized that there would never be a clear winner, only losers if this newly developed technology was unleashed due to the climate change it could effect.
Every cloud has a silver lining however and nuclear energy was the tarnished bronze lining that resulted in the development of this tech. Virtually unlimited energy could be the result however once again, 3 mile Island in the US and Chernobol behind the Iron Curtain demonstrated this stuff cannot be taken lightly. Chernobol still has the potential to poison every drop of water within the world today with it's lower than sea level
concrete tomb it has been encased in.
Let us hope that someday science will figure out how to reverse the poison "left overs" of nuclear energy production and thankfully anyone who has possession of atomic weapons understands the calibre of destruction and potential for total erradication of the human race. As the genie is now out of the bottle, we have no choice but to live with the threat it creates but we can only hope that the technology stays within the hands of responsible leaders who understand the implications of such a weapon.

DID you know when the very first atomic bomb was detonated in Los Alamos, scientists feared that the oxygen within the atmosphere could actually catch fire and destroy life as we know it even before the weapon was turned against the enemy.

When I saw such myths posted above I felt compelled to actually reprint some facts and opinions of others but it is good to have a little knowledge and history rather than come up with opinions based on presumptious data.
