Wormholes get destroyed for various reasons. Is there any interest in a ship that can displace a WH by X sectors or LY's ?
Something that can push a Wh a short distance from where it is initially built the the next 2 closest prewarps.
The surprise factor would do the biggest damage to someone who used the Wh but they could also build this ship and nudge it back to where it was initially.
Any interest

Of course the ship would have to be a self destruct type and good for 1 move only. I don't know what a ship like this would be worth as there is nothing to compare it to. It would not be a much used ship but I think the surprise element would be fun but I'll be the first to admit ...I'd curse the #@$%#@$% who moved the WH when I was counting on using it to get some place fast. The 2 High speed Wormholes would be too large for the containment field to manipulate therefore immune to this ship.

So your Thoughts

The implementation could prove difficult. Alot of factors to be considered: a range limit on the move, limitations on who can move one (proably limit to the "installer"???), how many times this can be done, etc. Otherwise wormholes could literally be all seized up by a player or group of players.
Often an idea to protect something can result in the opposite

A better idea would be for an apostate sphere to go up with each one. That is why the admin wh's and the site of the battle sim can never be hit

I was not thinking defence only of a Wh but, rather, a tricky little ship that can just "nudge" or "bump" the Wh to the next closest prewarp then self destruct.
In average WH useage, this would not have a very big effect on game play but in a war situation where time is sometimes critical, a WH displaced by 1 "prewarp", could throw off a planned attack or defence by a few hours causing the attacker or defender to cuss profusely.

Like I said...it would not be used very often but the ability to enact such a surprise on occassion might be fun.

It was just a thought that could add another small element of stragety to the game.

Imposing a distance restriction to the WH Mover Ship after it picked up the WH I guess would be the biggest challenge in designing this ship.
