automated probe

this probe automatically searches out the galaxy for you scaning as it travels establishing com links. it travels round by its self in some kind of spiral from your base or given coords, uncovering coords as it goes. It is a slower but automated way of exploring compared to doing it manually

scanradius: 5

speed: warp 7

researchtime: 4 d

needed research:
science recycle methods

I like idia of automated probe, wanted to design one on myself but it seems more ppl need it.
BTW its not that ppl are lazy, but manually searching with avaible probes is to how shall i say....booring??? Set speed of this probe at about normal probe speed, but let it travel in random direction and stop randomly every 5-10 sectors (its more realistic that probe like this one will have trouble to bring up all power it need to search all the sectors )

Space is of hard to explore since you want to cover every part, but sometime at certain combination of probe you will miss a couple sectore of space.

Your base 500/500/50 and your probe 490/500/50 & 510/500/50 mean you miss the shape of the funel area above and below that. Even though the situation is simple, I hope the point is illustrated.

i think the idea still is quite good, cause it makes it easyer to explore space.

just not sure how it would be balanced.

in case: the programming would be quite a lot work

this topic IS old but it wasnt moved to impossible inventions, so it is OK to post in old topics here in the "New Technology Inventions" forum

some good ideas are lost somewhere in the past.
