Well, all I know is that Warp 1 is the speed of light. (whatever that is)
And then I guess Warp 2 is twice the speed of light and warp 9 is 9 times the speed of light ect. ect. _________________ Calvin: I'm a genius, but I'm a misunderstood genius.

well that means warp 5 is like, 6,000,000 miles per second
and in km it would be around 10,000,000 per second
those are only aproximates, and i get confused with millions and billions often _________________ PWNAGE!

There are two options to answer:
1 The Big One:
1 lightyear is what light travels in a year. light goes by 100.000 km/second. so light travels this distance in a year:
100.000 x 60 ( 60 seconds in 1 minute ) x 60 ( 60 minutes in 1 hour ) x 24 ( 24 hours in 1 day ) x 365 ( 365 days in 1 year ) = 3.153.600.000.000 = 3.153.600 million km/year.
warp 1 = 1 lightyear, so warp one is what I calculated above.
2 The Short One:
It is VERY VERY FAST |

Actually, lihgt travels at 300.000 km/s
Also, warp is much faster. We can travel hundreds of lightyears in a matter of hours, even at warpfactor 1. (1 sector is several lightyears across)
So it's EVEN FASTER!! |

100 ly at warp 1 takes 9000secs (=150mins) (=2hrs 30 mins)
So 1 ly at warp 1 takes 9000/100 = 90 secs
A light year is 9,460,536,207,068,016 metres
so warp 1 is 9,460,536,207,068,016/90 = 105117068967422.4 m/s
that is 29199185824284 km/hr (u have to divide the m/s by 3.6)
so warp 1 = 29199185824284 km/hr
warp 5 = 145995929121420 km/hr
now speed of light = 83275682.8 km/hr
29199185824284/83275682.8 = 350632.8
so warp 1 is 350632.8 times the speed of light |

Yeah thats in ST time. But in real time, it is what i said. But that wouldnt be realistic in ST, so all ships travel very fast. |
