This is a situation which occurs frequently, but a whole bunch of players (myself included I must admit) are actually not particularly good at it. In this game it is much easier to attack than it is to defend.

Anyway, what I'd like to ask is this; will the elite players kindly impart some of their knowledge and tips to the masses? I' sure I can't be the only one who is wondering about this.

Btw, In Methi's TO discussion someone mentioned there being a lot of heros not in TO, biding their time doing their own thing. I know all TO, but I'm hard pressed to think of many big players out of TO. If you guys are reading, let us know who else is out there!!

It is easier to defend than attack. At least that is what I experience. I think it has to do with you do the most. Just ask people to attack you more often and you will get better in it.

Defending goes on the same way as attacking. Only you have less time to prepare. But the rest is the same, try to know what the attacker is doing, what he has in fleet and try to counter it.

The bennefit to defend your planet, you have 1 extra fleet, try to use that.

One of my new allies just asked me the same sort of question, along the lines of 'what am I doing wrong?'

I am having a hard time thinking of anything he is doing wrong.

But for defense, I recommend being online, and to have a vessel scan built, then you can at least arrange your ships in the best possible order. Sometimes it works to take ships off planet and then hit the enemy after he has suffered some losses, this is basically the same as battle order going your way by luck, but it works for me most of the time.

Well I try, but the average people are mostly afraid because I make them fear my attacks like hell. That way they assume I am equal on defence (which I'm not really) and they don't attack! Upper notch people don't seem to ever reply to my challenges; they don't respect my authoritah godammit!
