Why cant we split fllets in deep space. Why is empty fleet allways stationed in base?
This would be great tactical advantage!

I always send 2 fleets and switch between them. As a matter of fact you can switch between 2 (or 3  ) fleets while moving IF you have set them on course at the same time.
(For a few weeks ago you could also remove the mothership of a fleet while moving and so letting a fleet arrive instantly without at the nearest coords class 4 which could be useful for penguin fleets. But this bug is solved)

I mean to come with one fleet to position, and split it in 3 fleets
that should be ok.

Yes, i like the idea.
When i was noob, i made that mistake.
I send a fleet tender with 2 ms in 1 fleet to coords. When i was there (8 hours) later, i saw it is not possible to split up the fleet in more fleets.
So i had to fly back 8 h. So i thought the fleet tender is much faster, but in this case not. It tooke me 6 h more time 
I never mdae that mistake again.
