Multi symbol on Com and Probe Data on multis

If possible and not too much trouble, I have a suggestion to help deal with multis. On the Com list there could be added a symbol, lets say a red M, to idenify convicted multis. If you click on this symbol it would bring up probe data on the multis base. Also a search for convicted multis option should be added to the Com which would bring up all convicted multis with their coords. This would be a major disadvantge to the multis and should help to discourage players from being multis.

I am only not sure if the admin will do this, it is up to them, but i like the idea.

I'm not sure that it will work. I'm sure that convicted multis don't continue to play the game for long with their convicted account. They will go and make a new, clean one. All the more encouragement if their filthy, cheating habits are open for the whole of SpaceTrace to see. Besides, how would it feel if you were an honest player wrongly convicted? This is a very delicate subject really, and trust me, i absoultely hate multis as much as you.

You don't get wrongly convicted easiy. I've been ccused of multi-ing in the past, but hve easily been able to clear myself. I can be a very nasty bugger in a fight, but an wrongful accusation will almost never hold.

I think the multis keep many of thier accounts open. If this can be implemented, I think more of them would close their accounts. Even if they start new accounts they will be noticed by someone and reported. Hopefully they will either leave the game completely or decide to just use one account like the rest of us.
I also thought about my suggestion and realized that if we can get convicted multis marked with the red M on the Com, get probe data to pop up on thier bases by clicking on the M, and have a way to seach for the convicted multis on the Com; then we would not need the coords on the search results because we would only need to click on the M and the probe data would give us the coords and add them to the "already scanned" section of the Com.

i am sorry but this is not usefull. if we find multiple accounts and we have enough evidence we delete them or make the score to zero.

i welcome your enthusiasmus, maybe you make a topic where you collect targets like that. that would be nearly the same .. and the players do it.

I understand if this feature cannot be added , or if you don't have the time. But I am a bit confused by your multi policy. I was under the impression that the only thing that happens to multis is that they get the “steps are already taken against this user" message where the report suspected multi box should be, and that it was up to us, the players, to take care of this problem. There are many convicted multis whose accounts are not deleted. Do they all have scores of zero now? If they do have zero scores, does this mean they are hanging around just to be a nuisance and have the ability to attack others en masse. Or does it suggest that all of their multi accounts have not been identified and they find it useful to keep the zero score accounts.
If we take your advise and list multi targets in a forum topic will we be allowed to post their coords if they are convicted multis?

you could use any other public board to post alist of multies with coords... for example the borg forum

or just make a open forum for multi huntig on http://www.avidgamers.com

that would be a nice idea if the extra work isn't possible. having a separate forum with targets would also allow multi hunters to discuss tactics and stuff against massive attacks/defense or whatever.
