I think this topic is in the wrong place. I think it should be int he suggestions area. don't you think? Well, this isn't the first time when someone has suggested a new race. It has come up a few time, but usually put down =/

of course because most of the players think that the five races now are balanced and lets the game have a fair atmosphere to it. adding a race will mess up the balance (there are five races right? or is it four?)

there are some thougths behind the race system.

there is a geometric order:



the races that are in opposition are like... "enemies" and the races near ot each other are "friends" that means , for example, humans has eray and nanite as friends; mycilloid and kazuula as enemies.

the ship balance is , in some cases, accurate to this geometry. for example, the humans have ship that are counter ship against kazuula and mycilloid, and they have ships that are good in combination with eray and nanite ships.

we will work on the ships balance that way that the character of the races will be even more "feelable"

(eary gets the deathadder as an countership against the mycilloid and nanite class 3 spoilers)

Well yes my idea was to have a "Pirate Race" There ships are weaker and not as powerful as some ships from the other four but their ships are a lot faster so i.e the pirate flags hip may have warp 8 and thier fighters will have like 2 Attack and one life or the destroyer will be like 5/6 and 10 crew and so forth

if you make a pirate rece it should have all sorts of nasty tricks. LIke with every ship you buy, you get a fake one as extra. That gves them 50% chance to dodge. This dodge ability would also accentuate the speed of the ships.

I'm not against adding things to the game, but mejor changes like this need proper working out. We would need to invent new ships and new abilities for this race before we can even think of adding it.

One think I do know. If we indeed get a "swift" race. I'm playing it.

lol....there is a race like that in the game already....besides i think admins are right, the races are good the way they are. maybe we should work on improving the current structure of races instead of adding to it?
