To many mp. This means to destroy 1 destroyer or an other class 2 ship you need at least 2 class 2 ships. This is much to low

The mp for the ship is about right.

Consider the senario with both side have the same amount of mp.

You
4 destroyers
Enemy
2 destroyers
1 quantum frigate

Assuming the enemy go first, your score still come out 0 pt or 8 pt.

Take 100+ quantum frigates and they will get really powerful for 16 points each.

I'm still new to this game... so I'll prolly be wrong. But wouldn't this only be the case when one-third of the enemy fleet consists of quantum frigates? Only then it'll be a fair fight, and it would still make the quantum frigate useless...

According to the description however, this quantum frigate will add one LP to all class 2 ships, so the enemy would only need one quantum frigate to add that LP.

Given an average sized class 2 fleet of 100 destroyers, the use of a quantum frigate would have a huge effect:
about two-third of your fleet will have the chance to fire before being destroyed... when the quantum frigate has come into battle, it would take two of your destroyers to take out one of your enemy's. So every second turn your fleet destroys one of the enemy's ships... i.e one-third = 33
This way you'd not only waste 45 per cent of your firepower ( 11 damage out of a possible 20 ) but your enemy will also have more destroyers left to blow your own fleet to smithereens...

Of the enemy's ships, about three quarters will have the chance to fire. (because it takes a lot longer to destroy them)... Roughly two-third of your class 2 fleet will be destroyed, and rough;y one-third of your enemy's class 2 fleet.

In order to NOT render the Quantum Frigate useless on the battlefield, the MP invested in it should make up for NEARLY the difference in losses. That would be about 35 destroyers = 280 MP.
Of course the Quantum Frigate most of the time won't be the first out of a hundred to attack, so the ammount of MP should compensate for about 20 destroyers = 160 MP. This way the element of chance will be preserved:
Either you're lucky and you get to kill more than 20 destroyers because your Quantum Frigate was one of the first to attack
Or you're unlucky because it was one of the last to attack, and you lose more points than you gain.

I hope this makes any sense, because I had to retype this post...I accidentally deleted the message by exiting the window

PS The description just sounds a bit off to me: "has a powerful quantum generator emitting waves at the exact frequency of your class 2 ships' hull giving them 1 more life point"
This phenomenon is called resonance, which will cause the targeted ship's hull to vibrate more violently. I.E Adding momentum to the molecules causing the hull to melt or evaporate, hence NOT adding to the ships LP

Would do great as a new weapon though an 80 KRK heatray Weylyn8-)... wouldn't that be fun?
NEway, that's it for now... I'm sure you lot have enough points to criticize:)18

I am WAY too tired to read all of that tiemen, pick some more decent time of day.

Anyway, you would not lose points. You are correst that you would need 2 destroyers to take out one of the enemy, but the enemy also needs two to take out one of yours, that would ba a draw.

hmm, that would be incorrect aswell, the enemy gets no lp, so this will effectively make any class-2 fleet a LOT tougher.

The thing is as soon as the quantum frigate perform its effect, you should able to kill the thing immediately.

Let consider your senario with 33 Qu and 66 De for the enemy and 132 De for you, assuming that 1 Qu follow by 2 De.

E1 - Qu[A1] effect 2 De with 11 lp
Y1 - De[B1] destroy Qu[A1] (+16)

E2 - De[A2] destroy De[B1]
Y2 - De[B2] damage De[A2] (+

E3 - De[A3] destroy De[B2]
Y3 - De[B3] destroy De[A2] (+

E4 - Qu[A4] effect 2 De with 11 lp
Y4 - De[B4] damage De[A3] (+

E5 - De[A5] destroy De[B3]
Y5 - De[B5] destroy De[A3] (+

E6 - De[A6] destroy De[B4]
Y6 - De[B6] destroy Qu[A4] (+16)

E7 - Nothing
Y7 - De[B7] damage De[A5] (+16)

E8 - Nothing
Y8 - De[B8] destroy De[A5] (+24)

I only select the scenario with (2Qu & 4De vs 8De). The reason is after every enemy ship has attack, the rest of your fleet that haven't attack will kill the enemy ships, and should overtake the enemy points.

Please point out my possible flaw is/are.

Sorry for the long post.

The point is that with Qu in your fleet, the enemy will have 2 extra De. The 2 extra De will compensate for the extra turn to kill your De with extra life.

Hope that shorten the point.

take it easy, i only say we already have the sporator amd the eternity device. But if it is only for your own fleet, i think it should cost 65.
1) No everybody has a destroyer, there are eagles and troikas
2) but vs destroyer is that usefull like interceptors vs fighters
3) i have an explaination a little bit more simple, because sine ones dosnt understand the turns stuff. But it is good to know some noob inderstand that, anyway i ownt say my explanaition coz it is too large too

Should I take that as a compliment or an insult

Those are nice words... thank you:) I hope I'll learn a lot more about ST. Until now (the week I've been playing ST) it's very interesting!
