I was not talking about the Bible, I was talking about scientific research and books. There are many atheists who are seriously questioning the theory of evolution because it is baseless and unfounded.
And this topic reads more like a point-counterpoint than a discussion really. Not that it matters to me one way of another.

@Steven: Bible is often mis-translated. Greeks made some errors in first translations, and Romans continued that errors. So did we now, it is wrong, couse modern bibles were translated from latin.
Faith is not Truth!
@Achiles: Scientists that are playing Mother Nature in labs should be expeled and burned. Thanks to them we have genitc-modified food, and modern desises are yet to be revealed. And all becose:" We can make it better!" Well, NO U CAN NOT! Dont play with stuf u don't understand. U can't! Stakes are to high. Evolution is only thing that makes sence.
And one other thing genetic modifying & cloning are stuff that we still have a lot to learn of. It's like Wrigth brothers, after first flight, said: "Hey let's build a space ship!" It will not work. We still haven't land on nearby planet, nor we understand our planet, but we act like we can out smart nature.
All our sience is based on last 1000 years (and less), we were barbars before. (West world) We still don't have knowledge of aincent cultures like China and India. They have 4000 years of expirience. They studied a Human (homo sapiens), his relation to nature... and some stuff u cant prove in any lab.
For instance:
- West medicine, beside cute devices Physics & Mathematichs gave them, only have better knifes. They are butchers!
- Commercial yoga is faaaaaar away from real yoga. It is stres relif. Real budist have 4 bodies 1. one is this animal shape,..., 4. one is pure mental state. Body can be left for several hours without any activity (not even a hart bump).
And for end we (avarage human) use only 10% of brain capabilitys. That is a proven fact! |

It doesn't matter if some errors maybe slipt into the bible. You must see the bible as one. But it is proven that these errors are very minimum.

Not entirely because I cannot believe that our existence is coincidence. I cannot believe that we are a result of nature selection. If you look at a protein (dutch: eiwit) and you look in detail to it, then it is unbelieveble that this is coincidence. Just look at the small things.
Good and evil. Why those two exist in most human beings. Why do we know what is good and what is evil. How do we distuingish them all at same way.

Not only that, but there are many things that can not have evolved, because they are too specialized.
Look at eyes for example. What good is a partial eye? Its no good. An eye must have all of it's parts or it is worthless. A creaure with partial eyes has no advantage over a creature with no eyes at all, so it would not have been naturally selected to pass on it's genes any more than anyone else. Millions of years of evolution is not a good argument for someone to believe that the eye evolved from a mutation.
Not only that, but two eyes work together to bring depth to vision. So not only would you need millions of years to develop one eye, but you would have to develop two eyes simultaneously.
The ears also are an example of this. The two ears work together to localize sound. An ear lobe is useless by itself, and so is an ear drum, an ear canal, and every other part. These parts would have been bred out over time, long before they figured out how to work together.
Animals and humans do not have extra parts. If evolution were true, there would be all kinds of extra bits of skin, bones, and other protrusions on every kind of life.
These facts do not specifically point to the Bible, or any other religeon. They do, however, point towards an intelligent design of the universe, and creation as truth. |

Lol and I do believe in evolution, so it goes, in your post Achilles I thought most of your quoted facts read as evidence for rather than against, which just goes to show I suppose.
But the "anti evolution scientists are being repressed" story is hogwash plain and simple. Yeah I know you will say hey what about so and so. Science wouldnt be science without dissenting views.
I think u should spend more time watching discover channel and less watching benny hinn. |

anti-evolution = creationism
And watching discovery channel is also evidence for creationism.

Disagree. Disbelief in one does not necessarily imply belief in the other.

Better than Benny Hinn for sure for sure.
Actually I always thought evolution provided plenty of evidence for God/s but thats another argument entirely. |

@Achilles
You are clearly a smart man. It was clever to remind the players that some of them mostly rely on info they gather from schools. Now I do not know if it was intended as a smart psychological punch or you just said it out furious (mad etc) about some lines mentioned before. Anyway deep one, perhaps deeper than you can imagine. Achilles-a man trying to get people think the way he does. I cannot blame him for this. Do you remember what Churchill said? About democracy? It is the same deal with the evolution theory. I have a question for you and I do hope you will answer. Do you believe the outer space exists. The galaxy, comets, big rocks covering kms? Do you? Clearly we’ll meet one of the rocks at some point. What will this force referred to do? Eye is as much meaningless as a human. An eye of an insect is more dumb-built (if one can say so) as is a monkey. Insect eyes do their job but they are nothing compared to ours. Life evolves. We evolve as did they monkeys. A stone becomes a drop of water if you get my point.
As for:
Quote: | Bible is often miss-translated. Greeks made some errors in first translations, and Romans continued that errors. So did we now, it is wrong, cause modern bibles were translated from Latin. |
quite correct and logical. Please do the translating better then. Seriously.
Quote: | Faith is not Truth! |
Fait IS the truth! The truth that man accepts. It is only relative what that is. I believe one cannot make up his mind about such deep questions just relying on teachers who can be mistaken- no not mistaken but they have their own truth. Most mix it from different sources. Thus you can not blame people on this one though you are right.
And please come front with other ideas of yours. Though I do not think we are on the same "channel" it is most interesting to study other theories- to evlove.

You are taking the religion stuff way too superficial. How perfect do you want the planet to be? |

Sorry Lou I somehow missed the point of your lines up there. If I could speak antique languages then I would translate it although I found a weakspot in my sentence: Noone is perfect translator in this matter. The difference is wether he is supported by large numbers of religious people or he is not supperted at all. So dear Achilles and everyone else: please do translate holy books yourself or if you cannot then like Wboy would say: "Zip it".
As for the best before matter the books do not lose their value. Yes they lose belivers but not their value. |

Yes sorry my bad. I misunderstand the meaning of creationism.

That is not entirely true. It used to be from latin, but from the Reformation (1600) to nowadays it is from Hebrew and Greek .

@ Fleshcut-I do believe in outer space. And I do believe in atoms, and the bottom of the sea, and I believe that my neighbor has a toilet. Just because I have never seen these things does not mean that they dont exist. (Yes, I can see space from my backyard, but I cant discern anything yet still believe it is there.) I dont really know what you mean about the asteroid hitting the earth, but sure it is possible.
And as far as insect eyes are concerned, maybe you need to do a bit of homework on this point. Insect eyes are absolutly amazing, and are no less "evolved" than ours. Theirs are perfectly suited to what they need them to do. Do a search on the web, you will be stunned at what you find.
Really, I am not trying to make anybody believe the way I do. My arguments are not pro-Christianity, pro-Judaeism, pro-Muslim, pro-Hindu, or anything else. They simply point out some of the flaws in the evolution theory that are presented as fact in my country and likely the entire world. I dont like arguing about religeon, and I dont like even discussing religeon with people that do not share my faith. I know that none of you have any clue as to what religeon I ascribe to.
@ Stalker- I used to watch Benny Hill, but I like Monty Python more. And I am really a bigger fan of the History Channel than Discovery. |

I really don't understand about how the literacy about God appears in the world? Do people create this god to make everyone be descipline in the society... Do people create god to have hope in something? I'm questioned. |

I heard that the "scientists" found water marks on mars... Does this mean there is no god... but life on earth is just a lucky chance of evolution and survival? |

It means nothing...
Except from the part that there was water on mars....
If God exists i think not (at least not in the way it is believed to) but no one can prove there is a God but no one can prove that there is no God.
So there are only opinions and believes and etc.
Make your own decision on what you feel best with, there are a lot of gods to choose from and a lot of atheist theories aswell, read, learn and draw your own conclusions, but on the path of religion everything is unsure, all depends on faith.... if you have it, you have found your answer, if not, keep on searching...

I think GOD is our own mind, but a part of us we can noy control, nor can we destroy it, it lets us know what is wrong. The best way is to listen at him as much as you can. Meditating gives you a better look on things, and is the way to get advise of He himself. Praise him, for He is our Shepherd in dark and evil paths through dark world and woods
