The time of '''Evolution'' went on from Monday, the 27th of October, 2003 (estimated), until the 3rd of April, 2006. During the times of evolution, alliance scores were never reset, but planets were automatically enslaved by the [[Dominion of the Travellers]] after 3 months. A player could then respawn with a different planet, but if a player used his or her old password, the same name could be used. After a while, the top alliance was a lot ahead, and new alliances, and also some older alliances, had practically no chance of catching up. Players started stating the game was boring this way, and protested that they wanted rounds back, or something else, such as special events. At first, nothing was changed, but later, a compromise was made. Planets would still be enslaved after 3 months, but alliance scores would be reset after an [[Era]], which lasted a 100 days, with a few days of pause in between. After this, not many more complaints were heard.
