here my thoughts about all ships. i tried to give them a rating(0{poor}-10{excellent})

all ship i rated less than 5 will be changed. destroyer, fighter, cruiser and mothership will stay.
all others between a rating between 5 and 10 may change, but i think most are well balanced and have a own character (for example: fleet tender)

here are my ratings for the new ships:

blockade runner
5 (needed for game balance, will surly be a race specific ship next round)

lucy device
6 (i like it much, but it's a tricky one)

tank fighter
?

frigate
?

evasor

Intruder 6 also I played them a lot, but never in combination with mosquitoes which is when they are good I think.

retreat fighter 3, used it to good effect on a couple of occasions but, I agree it is too expensive, around 50-60 would be ok.

emp fighter, gee, I wondered about them, no wonder I stopped building them, of course they should jam all classes.

Holo fleet carrier 4
Even with the improvements made to it, it is still too easy to destroy, I tried it often, and it only did its job to my satisfaction on one occasion.


sabotage fighter 6.5 a great ship on occasions, but, as it is useless against class one, can only be of value when built in large numbers against a small class one and big class 2, I am very fond of it however, I hope it stays.
The trouble with it is if you build a big fleet of them you are stuck with it till recycling or interception.!!!

sporator didnt use but got caught by it, very good 7

kamikaze 8 used often still fond of kams

penguin 3 Did not use, nor do I know of much use by others,
but the self destruction of all of them is rather a drawback I think, you might attack a fleet that has lost most of its class one and lose them all to self destruction too easily I think.
Mine deployer 3, didnt use them this round, last round they were useless I thought.
graze reactor
? (maybe 2)

shield generator 3, was I the only person who did notuse the small shield spectre fleet???,Maybe cos I shot a few!!!!

Extra features are good, but it is I think, too expensive, perhaps it should cost less and have some ap???

9 Yep this is a beaut ship

5, I thought I maybe detected a bug with multi emps against class 3, did not use them as much as I thought I would.

particle thruster Hmm, got attacked by a fleet containing 70, They are a special ship I think, I made lots of points against it.


pirate ship never got round to comparing it with cloneship, so cant really comment.

retraitor I built lots of these, never suffered from the lack of lp, but, hardly met a multi emp either!!!

spectre 7 Good but hardly invincible, I think lp 10 will kill its attractiveness to most players;

troika Seem to make a mess of destroyers when the odds are even

wasp 6 used little but is good I think.

plasma emitter 2 I think the sporator has made this ship redundant


cruiser
8 nice to shoot lots of people built lots.

apollo cruiser 10 spoiled many of my attacks against class 3, a much better ship than I envisaged at first.

cyclops as above, a great ship in most circumstances.

cluster cruiser never really appreciated this ship till BD started building them, they are a great ship in a cruiser vs cruiser situation.


dreadnaught this ship is currently too expensive, but should not be too cheap or I would build a fleet of 20

jammer No thoughts on this one

minor reconstructor Too easily shot.
plague ship
4 Was changed a lot in battle testing, I think a hard ship to use, but could be improved.

shock wave cruiser 6 good in some circumstances.


warcruiser even with the combination of disable ship, I think this ship is a little expensive, its lack of ability against cruisers, makes it too expensive I think.

mantis love em, dont use em but I love em!!!

Not really sure that nano bombers are better than interceptors, still like the ship though.

core driver
7 (very special, but good) I agree utterly,(see mantis)

doomstar
Never use em, too long to build too tricky to use except against newbs.

fleet tender
neat, but long research time stopped me using it.

major reconstructor
10 All of my allies who could use em, made points on most battles, A really good ship.

time slipper Again research prevented me building it. But I believe it is too expensive..
pirate flagship A great ship, which, actually is quite balances as it creates problems for the builder as well as the enemy.
shadow star No comment, I dont use em..

suggested changes

mine deployer mp=4
dreadnaught mp=375
retreat fighter mp=55, and selfdestruct only
emp fighter jams all classes

shield generator can stay like it is, i think.
penguin stays too i think (not as good as the kamikaze, but better than nothing for the mycilloids sporator+penguin is a good combo )
plasma emmiter ( think of combinations with it ! esp. with shield generator = good defensive combination )

about the carrier:
this ship has two interesting aspects:
1. tactical
suprise (250 class 1 ships appear after the first battle -> good defensive option)
2. nano bombers are better than fighters (and nearly all other class 1 ships, exept blockade runner, but that one is worse than all other class 1 ships... funny, isn't it ) but less good than interceptors.

i think this is balanced

this sleek beautiful cruiser has no firepower, but excellent eray shielding
attack/life: 0/500
manpower: 100

mobile repair dock
repairs one class 2 ship (the actual targetted ship get full LP back)
attack/life: 0/10
manpower: 4

lowrider (i like this one much)
a small mothership that can carry only class 1 and class 2 ships
attack/life: 0/300
manpower: 300
warp: 7

electric diffuser
a commando ship that will force your class 2 to attack again
attack/life: 0/10
manpower: 45

... we keep on searching, but it's really a lot!!!

holo fleet carrier - should cost only 150 mp (now it was 200)
disable ship - should disable more ships
plague ship - a bit cheaper, maybe 120 mp (now it was 140)
(or change it that the enemy is stunned for a while and cannot move its fleet away)
particle thruster - i think it is ok as it is (maybe even a bit too cheap, did anyone try it?)
graze reactor - 20mp (now it was 30)
l-prom - too special - we should delete it

the spectre should have only 10 LP

all ships on the hot list are very nice. we can add them all

the ship and the battle-resolving would be no problem, i don't know about the action after that (changing researches and stuff)
