Well, RandyRabit, you should contact Captain Starlight, and he'll explain the importance of tha alliences. I would let you into my allience, but since you are new, you should really learn to fight with fleets and ships and stuff.

For a good eneough fleet the only thing you need is a good combination of ship classes:
Class 1
1000 fighter
Class 2
250 destroyers
Class 3
20 cruisers
class 4
2 motherships
this is ussually a good combination for a new player, who does not have a channce to choose more complex vessels (ships)

How good your fleet is often depends on your tactics.
I know a couple of good players who don't use many
other ships than fighter, destroyer and cruiser. It
also depends on who you attack. If you for example
know somenone who isn't playing very long either, you
could attack him more easily as he won't have too many
ships researched.
btw: This round will be ending soon and when the new
round began all people will have to start their researches
from beginning on anyway.

@admins: I researched from beginning of this round on
and mainly without too many breaks inbetween and I still
have couple of things to research... I guess this is the
first round where people weren't able to research
everything...

i've basically got that, but i still seem to get beaten by people with bigger more complex ships really easily. btw how do you tell what alliance someone is part of?

@RandyRabit and alliance is nice to be in so you can learn from your fellow alliance mates,an how to better play your fleets and ships and for defence if your planet is under attack.

@Lord Philemon so true i've been researching sent the start of the round and i'll never get them all done LoL so Admin turely made it so A very active players as my self wouldn't ask for more research to do befor the round ended 'grins'.

I could not research everything either. Maybe the research time can be accelerated by about 30% in the next round

I think it's cool how you can't really research everything cause it makes you choose wisly one what your next research will be. and with the couple new researches added this round...

Just hope that this game could allow the change of race. Panality - remove those research that belong to the race you are changing from and remove some points.
Reasons: we need not wait for the reset to change the race.
I can understand now why some players have clones maybe this is one of their reasons.
Each reset some race have more interesting ships than others. We can't predict how these new ships interact until we actually utilise them.

Ah but if you can't change races in mid game you will have to play longer so you can try them all.
I think there should be a cancle reaserch botton.
@randy I think this round will end at the end of the year but don't hold me to that.

The admin said, that the end of the round is near.
(check this)
In the last rounds a message like this one meant that
the round ended about a week or two later.

I think research time could be reduced a little without causing too much trouble, as I was involved in a fairly big war earlier on, my research suffered enormously, I will not even get close to finishing it all.
