it is not easy to make game changes , esp. in ST, because you cannot imagine all the things that will happen.

but at the time it seems that noone with more than some pods is willed to put them into the homebase

so we propose:

for the winning condition you need to assimilate the chrono matter into your homebase. it is done by having them in your base. after some days they get assimilated and the chronopod ships are gone. you will have then the research and production bonus permanently.
the process of assimilation takes time - some days (also the assimilation gets randomized - so you cannot wait for exactly "that time" )

only assimilated chronopods count for the victory condidition.

i think this is a good way to balance this: it lets players enough time to react, but will reward you for your effort you had getting the chronopods in the first place.

p.s. if we think it is needed we can invent a ship that can dig out the assimilated chrono pods. but it is a high risk ship with high mp (4000mp)
also it can dig out a limited number - maybe 100

i think the securing of the chronopods (assimilation) is good.

the reason why i suggested the extra steal ship is because: if an alliance

has more than 51% of the theoretical chronopods rescources, the era would be over.

instead of using a the steal ship, we could end the round before the 100 days, if an alliance has 51% of the total possible chronopods. (with some days delay)

good concept

maybe de digging should be done with troopers/workers like there are for capturing the flag, they arrive in expensive c2 to dig out one.
other troopers defend etc

good idea... that way you can try to prepare to defend. also the concept is already implemented.

i think it is important that the digging out needs to be hard and it needs be a team effort - may the best TEAM win

I agree also. All my pods are in a fleet constantly flying around. It would be tricky to catch them and Im positive i can get them safely to my base or an allied base before the end of era.

So, yeah i like this idea of assimilation. It adds an exciting danger element and most of all, cooperative teamplay.

i must admit that i am really a fan of the 51% idea => era runs 100 days or one alliance assimilates 900(+-delta) pods. it also means that an era will last at least 50 days - and i guess in pracice it will run avarage 90 days.

i like it the most because it is the most simple one .. as a game goal. it is also some kind of the less flavourfull, because it is so "game like"
but i like it the most
it gives you the safe fun to enjoy your chronopod advantages without fear. and i think the effort to aquire the pods in the first place should be rewarded - remember also that you have to defend them for 3 days to assimilate!


there are the following variants:

* there will be some kind of steal meachism (ship, ship with troopers) that need team effort to be successful (so much mp that one player cannot steal pods alone)

* the chronopod output increases over time. 51% of chronopods get produced in the last 30 days.

my proposal would be to test the 51% solution this round and prepare the steal mechanism if we think it is too boring or smt.

I prefer the stealing ship option more.

It puts control of mechanics into the players own hands and is thus more dynamic. Plus it gives one extra military operation style event for alliances.

we will start now implementing the following:

if you have you chronopods at home, they will be installed into your base. on avarage this can take 3 days, but it is a bit randomized: it can take a bit more or less.

only installed chronopods count for the victory condition and only installed chrono pods increase the chrono factor.

the implementation will take some days.

after that we will discuss the the digging out mechanism and balance it.
i guess it will be ready in early januar. i think that is no problem because the big steals will and shall occur later in the era.

it's online now... your chronopods should be installed if you have them in your base fleet

the installation process takes some days (3 on avarage)

the boni from the chrono factor will be available after the installation .
