we think we have a nice solution to balance out the game play to be more strategical and combine colony & tactical game:

we thought of having a rescource for jumping in general, though we think it is a good idea we will postpone it ... maybe later

our main proposal would be:
the main resource should be chrono pods

you can get chrono pods from the colonies and from the 3 planets(4 on the black hole 2 on the other planets per day).

you can use your chrono pods like now (increase warp speed ) OR
carry them to your home base. if you have 50 CrP at home your production&research speed is increased to 1.5. if you have 100 CrP your P&R-speed is 2,0 . if you 300 CrP your P&R-speed is nearly 3,0.

the winning condition is the number of chrono pods at your home base.

tactical scores will be named : Battle Experience

the abstracet "score" will be abandoned

we think this will work because:

you want to horde CrP's at home
they can be stolen if someone has a lot (rankings page )
you will be careful when using CrP's for warp speed
for a power player the production speed is a good motivation, but it is not too hard on low-intensitiy player, esp. because low intensitiy player dont care to much about having fast production times.

It sounds interesting and im very curious how it will work.

Will the chrono pods at your base be depleted when you use the production bonus?

How will stealing chrono pods work? If a pod is defeated (lp reach zero) in battle, it will carry over to the enemy fleet?

the production&research time bonus will not use up the pods. it will encourage to horde the pods ... which will lead to envy and finally for attacks on your home planet

the stealing of pods stays exactly the same.. destroy them and they are yours!

Interesting idea
i'm inclined to say 'just do it".
However two remarks:
This alters gameplay because the objective changes - esp. in alliance perspective-: if you lose a lot of points but win a pod or more and doing so, you do well (old style you did bad job and the only thing you gained was more warp)
I think this change makes the game more interesting when you work together in bigger alliances. Together you have a strategic goal. With the limited number of playsers now i thing i prefer the old way where , craftmanship"in buildingyour fleets pays out. But it may help recruting

the old "doing good"-meta is still in place: battle experience.

there will still be a ranking for this - though you are right, you may choose to ignore it, BUT a good player will always be more effective in stealing pods

anyway i think we really badly need a game goal that is understandable and strategical
...

on the horizon is still a use for battle experience which is a concept that is well known to gamers.
