Alright, I know that when you put ships in a fleet, that have already fought against a person, into another fleet and come into contact with the same person's fleet, they wont fight again because of a "battle pause".

My question is this:
(Let's call the fleet that already fought "fleet X" and the one that hasent "fleet A")

When you move ships from fleet A into fleet X and then put those same exact ships ships, that HAVENT FOUGHT, back into fleet X, will a battle pause occur with fleet A?

This happened to me on accident, when I went to follow up and attack with a second fleet, but accidently moved an essencial ship into my "already-fought fleet"! It caused a battle pause, even though none of the ships I moved back into my "havent-fought fleet" had any contact with the enemy. If this isn't suppost to happen, maybe a bug...?

the battle pause sticks to the fleet not the ships

Ok it was a bug, then. If that is the case I have had multiple (apparent) battle pause bugs that I ASSUMED where game mechanics... Sorry guys, I know I never make it easy.

You are telling me:
I am suppost to be able to use my same ships against an individual enemy fleet multiple times, providing my ships are in different fleets?

(Example)
I can attack an enemy fleet with my fleet 1, then leave and sync up with my fleet 2 (which, lets say, contains only a mothership), put the ships that already fought into fleet 2, then attack the enemy fleet again?

No, that would be awful.
I think, what spacetrace meant is that when you already "infected" a fleet with battle pause by mixing it with another fleet, you can't reverse it. Because the whole fleet is in battle pause mode now. For example: If you would now put 1 fighter, which never actually fought, from the "infected" fleet into a third fleet, the whole third fleet would get a battle pause, too.

Ok, thanks. I will chalk it up to one of those things you got to be REALLY careful about...

it's like with many things in st: it's a clear simple rule - but not very good documented.

Ok so my next question about battle pauses is this:

What about a fleet that is totally destroyed? Will it be subject to a battle pause with the fleet(s) that it fought before it was destroyed?

I don't understand. It would be just an empty fleet.

It would be just an empty fleet yes, but you can create fleet x again after its destroyed. My question is: will it still be subject to battle pause after it's recreated from the base?

This would be a very rare situation, but theoretically interesting.

I guess the newly created fleet would still have a battle pause even though it doesn't seem too logical.

the battlepause is and should be related to ships involved in the battle, no ships, no pause
