class 1:
800 blockade runners (1/2, 2 MP)
2 commando-fighters (1/1, 10 MP)
220 kamikazes (35/1, 1 MP)

summary:
enemy losses:
class 1:
123 kamikazes
2 commando-fighters

your losses:
class 4:
buildings:
1 research center
1 transwarp-network
1 shipyard

it's a cool combo , but isnt it overpowered??

shouldn't kamikaze kill / obliterate two own ships instead of destroy

(i am not so sure myself... maybe the 1600mp investment in BR's balances it out, though it seem no likely that the selfdestructiveness of the k's will leave anything alive)

Ah. I am glad you like my patented base-sweeper combo! The idea dawned on me one day and after reading into the Kamikazes syntax and then testing it in the Battle Sim, I found the combo successful. The thing about unique combos is they dont remain unique after you use them for awhile and people start catching on.

Personally, I dont think it is too powerful, but I am (probably) the only one who used/uses the set-up at the moment, so my opinion is probably bias. This setup is one of my favorites, probably because I (possibly) invented it. Someone may have used them in such a way before but I couldnt find any posts talking about it, at the least!

You say it does not seem likely, and perhaps not, but let me quote you something that I was once told:

yes it is unreal , somehow, but this is a game, and we shouldn't sacrifice a cool game engine for realism.

it was all the years accessible (never thought of it) - it's so cool to get suprises like this after so many years... i am just not so sure about the balance - maybe the 1600mp effort for the br's is enough to balance it - the ppl will find out

Damn it. So would kamis then kill blockade runners upon self destruct? There goes my trademark fleet lol. That su-cks.

If so, dont do it! Reconsider!
There are thousands of different ways to combine different ship effects to achieve awesome combos that wouldnt otherwise be possible by one or the other ship alone, and this just happens to be one of those combos!

Its a cool combo, it has been used before. But thinking about it,
the kamikazethread gives a good explanation how the balance of the kami is intented. I like that. The way this combo works out doesnt fit .

we have discussed this, and i am sorry, that we need to change the kamikaze that way that this combination will not work anymore.

(kamikaze obliterates 2 own ships)

reasons:
it's not the only powerful combination, but this one esp. is hard to counter - and it's a combination which allows base attacks with little losses. This shouldn't be able so easy.

p.s. the kamikaze is one of the oldest ships. back then there was no blockade runner, no trigger_0_destroy, no obliterate, no trigger_0_modify. back then we thought no ship will ever have more than 1000lp (that's the reason why it makes 1100 damage)
so... the kamikaze needs to be updated - we will do this at the end of the era.

i hope you dont mind - and congratulations for finding out this

Bah. It's a shame, but I get it. What can ya do. Too hard to counter... Ruined by its own efficiency!
I get to use it until the end of the Era atleast.
