in order to make colony scores somehow comparable to the tactical scores (or in the long term merge both) i will implement this:

100 pts for founding a colony
250 pts for conquering a colony
4 pts for destroying one unit (mp equivalent of the transports)
50-100 pts. for bombarding for each bomber (25-50% of the mp equivalent of the bomber)

this way the colony scores somehow reflect the time and mp spend for playing strategical.

this scores will be shown on the rankings page.

future features could be :
- score for holding key colonies (equivalent to score planets ) 250 per day (same score as all score planets divided by 16 (number of key colonies))

Im not so sure about this one.. It would definitely take a few trys to balance out the point system. Frankly I think it would be like taking away the recognition of non-colony players in order to give recognition to the colony players. Like one can have it and the other cant.. Not that it isint well due, props to the top empire players! However, speaking as the top scorer of this round so far (not a boast, my points are laughably measly and I know that) I just know the top colony players would smoke me in points. It would really be no contest for those guys as its alot easier to take someone out in the colony game (as its more expansive and complicated) than it is in misc. space battles. Im on the fencepost for this one. I dont want to fully chastise it or support it quite yet.. Why not just give both scoring systems the same recognition but keep independent scoreboards for each, just put the top colony players names in lights and ephasize the individual colony players scores.. Just a thought.

you can follow the colony scores in the rankings now

just click on colony scores to see the top colony scorers...

we will see what will be there in the end... and make so adjustments for next era

enjoy

these score are counted at the time:

conquer: ((200 pts.)) 50 pts.
foundation: ((200 pts.)) 50 pts.
destruction of a ground unit: ((2 pts.)) 1 pts. (25% of the mp value)

there is another thing that we want to add:

as an equivalent to the score planets for tactical players we should have something similar:
remember the score planets give 4000 pts./d

any alliance will get an equivalent of 4000 pts./d when holding all planets (fully evolved) distributed among all players

this way your effort to hold a lot of planets in the middle of the era will be rewarded.

in the beginning of the era there is little population , so less points.

but there should be a big bonus at the exact end of an era , like 1/4 of all points given in the whole round. this way a final cluster blitz can change the tides.

i think this is a nice feature - you love to log in and ... ah gained score again from all my colonies.

imagine this as a economic simulation - like you let the population of the colonies work for profit

the winning condidtion would be the total score then.

like it?

pls answer !

p.s. we should consider to give away 2000 pts total a day, because there are no negative points in colony game...

Sounds reasonable to me, I suppose. Its better answered by someone with alot more enthusiasm for the Colony game than I. Just dont end up leaving your loyal tactical players out of the fun during your campaigne to add nifty features for the colony gamers. We like nifty features too

yup. its a great idea to make a colony score board.

but the tactical scores and colony scores can not be compared in equal manner. i think. it would take so much balancing and statistics until that would be possible.

so i like the idea to make a scoring system for colony players, but i wouldn't connect the two scoring systems just yet.

i'll read it all properlya nd thoroughly later. just my quick opinion rigth now : )

cheerio!

dont worry they wont be merged with the tatical scores, they will be desinged to be somehow comparable.

about the balance:

i would say it is nessesary that 50% of the points are given over the timespan of the round and 50% at the end, to make an era final rush effective.

what do you think?

i made some statistics and i think we need to reduce the score for conquering to 50 and the score from on destroyed unit to 1 : then we would have :

1/3 score from holding
1/3 score from conquering/battling
1/3 score from the final

so the scores would be:
conquer: 50 pts.
foundation: 50 pts.
destruction of a ground unit: 1 pts. (25% of the mp value)
holding a planet with population x for one day : x pts.
holding a planet with population x in the final: 50*x pts.

as we are adjusting them while the running game, we shouldn't change the winning condition:

the winning alliance is the one with the most population in the end (just like before)
