you can move the center of the colonymap by drag'n drop now. (just click into empty space and drag)

scroll to zoom works too (scroll in empty space)

go to navigation and switch to the new standard fleet control:

you can organize your fleet completely by drag and drop!

it will be improved more, but it's already very useful because you can do many things with one modify-action.

i really like what you have done with the navigation screen. It feels so much more natural to drag the ships around between fleets.

more improvements to the fleet screen:

* if you drag into more than one fleet it will automatically divide the ships , so that an even number is moved to each selected fleet. very convinient

* adjusting the number of ships (when moving ships into more than one fleet) will automatcally adjust the other numbers, if the max is exeeded.

* updated attitude symbols

* for ships with no picture a nice blueprint is shown instead of no picture

* if you have filled in target coords there is a little triangle - click on it and you will get information about stuff that is at that coords

wow. i have to say this again...

the new drag and drop fleet interaction is sooo good. Its like 5 times faster. great stuff, really.

one thing i thought about.

there's this game mechanic where you can drop ships from a moving fleet to a stationary one when you time it exactly.
right now this technique is used only by vets because its not so easy to learn it.

Its a really nice technique and gives battles a lot more depth, but right now using it feels like using a loophole. I think it could be cool to make this thing a part of the game. The main problem right now is timing the drop. you need to keep an eye on the probes screen to catch the 10 sec window when the fleets are aligned and then you need to switch to fleets screen fast and make the change (fleets screen can't be opened before because then you won't have the option to move from flying fleet to stationary).
its difficult.

maybe there could be like some notification that tells you when fleets are aligned with eachother and then you automatically can move between these fleets.

i hope u get what i mean.

what do u think?

a fast solution for it right now is to have the old navigation screen available for vets...

it's a cool thing that needs to be preserved

i think you missed my point a bit.

my problem isnt that vets aren't able to do this maneuver with the new navigation. they can. because...vets are awesome

my problem was more that this technique is not available for newly joined people. there's nothing in any manual about it and its very tricky to learn. basically its mostly a knowledge passed on from player to player inside an alliance.

I agree we should preserve this technique and i also think it should be made simpler so that it feels like its a tactical part of the game.

It's not a top priority thing to do, but i think its something to think about : )

mmmh it's a mystical secret carried from mysterial veterans to selected entlighten ones

why , the hell , should we change that

i love it

anyway ... i think there is lot of stuff for - lets call them "casual player" - we can do... like making the incomings clearer and more stuff ... we work on it.

but i will keep it in mind .

you can research now inside the techtree-view

in the research screen, there is a link at the top to the techtree

(we still need an icon for it, now there is just a grey ball)

wow. that is awesome.
i no longer need to go see the manual to check what ships some research gives me.
this along with the drag-n-drop fleet screen are great improvements that simplify the game for new players.

the researchtimes of the first few researches in the tech tree are shortened to some minutes and during newbie protection, the other researches are not possible to start, unless you end the newbietime.

this way new players can start researching right away to get the right start and are not confused

the player search page shows only active players by default now and not the players from the newbie alliances, unless you search for something, then all players are shown.

you can also search for the word "online" to see only online players

the alliance incomings screen is fixed in colors and some more translations added.

and the traveller fleets are not shown anymore
