please someone explain

i was wondering, what the hell dominion and it of the travellers are. or why they attack. i have a couple of questions and can someone either answer them or post a link to the answers plz.

1.are they players/admin/a.i?
2. do they have a home planet?
3. why do they attack?
4. is there any information on the travvelers race? like the info on the other races?

The "Traveller's" are entities that free range throughout the galaxy. "IT" travels from random base to random base and does no real harm to your base other than being a target for someone wanting to improve their HUNT SCORE in the stats.

Dominion is the grim reaper who comes and wipes out your buildings and enslaves your manpower and everybody gets a visit from him when you reach 100% of your evolution, forcing you to start over in a new account.
This keeps the evolutionary state of players from staying at a point where you have large contingent of ships available and provides balance to the gameplay in general.

IT can be destroyed but there is no known defense against Dominion.

cheers for the info, do it and dominion use the same fleet set up? if so cant u defeat domionion?

It can be destroyed if you use the right combo of ships or make sure you do more than umm.... I think it's 1001 AP ( do not quote this...you can find actual numbers in forum using the search feature and key word "IT") or, you have to hit IT with or some ship that causes catastrophic damage eg: Bounty hunter/ regular fighter combo.
Dominion uses a ship only available to him and no one has found a way to prevent him from smoking your base and any ship of yours that happens to be there. If you happen to be out on patrol when Dominion hits your base, you used to be able to continue your tour until you run out of ships or it's not practical to fight any longer but I do not know if you still can. There was some changes made a couple months ago that may prevent you from continuing your tour. Seems to me, my fleet took off toward the Black Hole on their own soon as I tried to enter in new coords.
I don't know if this still happens. Perhaps others who have recently evo'ed out can tell us.

Drakal, it's probably better to not try to figure out a fight against Dominion. When he hits you, whatever points he gets come out of your score, and your alliance.

I tend to scrap all my ships, once he's on the way, so I'm not sure what happens to existing fleets.

Basically, just try and stay out of their way.

'IT', however, will give you 850 points, and your alliance a huntscore, if you manage to beat him.
