i was playing around and looking at what to research and i decided i wanted to try colonizing. correct me if i'm wrong, but i thought that if you scan and find a pre-warp world, then send the colony star there then it automatically claims it for you and your alliance. yet i've tried it on around 7 different worlds and it won't colonize the world. any explanations on how to actually use this ship?

Admin was doing some work on the "colony game".
It seems you have the concept right from what my memory tells me.

If admin ever shows up to repair the current bugs, perhaps posting something in the "bug" section of the forum will get a definitive answer to if the colony game is working or not.

Hey is there a more in depth colony explanation somewhere in the manual yet? i get it for the most part but it seems like there should be something like that in the manual.

in case there isnt, you put defense on colonies by just droping defense transports at the colony planet right?

Prewarp Worlds (Undiscovered and Discovered)

When your fleet arrives at the planet you must click on its name to display the planet information. It should notify you that you are the discoverer.

1. If you are lucky eough to discover a new planet you can colonize it using just a colony ship.

2. An already discovered prewarp that has had a colony will need to be attacked. You can use any of the transport type ships to do this. It will notifiy you if it is defended.

3. If a prewarp world has a colony that has troopers on it you will need to attack and defeat the defending troops.

I hope this helps you colony players.

but do you know if you go on vacation and cloak your planets, will it cloak your colonies to? or are those up for grabs?

cloacking works only on your base planet.
with researching some more cloacking technology you can cloack ships or fleets, but that makes only in special purposes sense.

When you build any of Transport Type ships they use reinforcements. As you capture or build colonies you get more reinforcements. The best way to protect your colonies is to leave some troopers to guard them.

Ships
infantry transport, tank transport, defense transport

defense-trooper (class 1 trooper)

the colony game works now. we fixed some bugs.

you can colonize new planets that are in your cluster.
if you look on the colony map you see some planets that are within reach of your cluster so your colony cluster can grow.

if you transport troops to your colonies, you can now deploy your troops there and also evacuate troops from the colony into your fleet. or move troopers inside your cluster from one colony to the other.

and the new feature:
if a com sat station is installed on your colony, you can see fleetmovements around the colony with your pyramid device probe

We enhanced the strategical map: now you can see and move your fleets from there.

also the planets connect to clusters correctly now
