Attack times as of writing:

14.03 20:51 - battle: base Sweld of Uminarkel
code your planet is attacked by chibai of bow more fleet 1 (ETA 1 h 34 m)
code your planet is attacked by Anglichu of Nuerj fleet 1 (ETA 4 h 16 m)
code your planet is attacked by Gentleness of Valour fleet 1 (ETA 7 h 24 m)
code your planet is attacked by Menom of Opuiosu fleet 1 (ETA 7 h 59 m)
code your planet is attacked by penang of good fleet 1 (ETA 13 h)

Offline times as of writing:
Sweld 11h
chibai 9h9m
Anglichu 8h 51m
Gentleness 8h 43m
Menom 10h
penang 9h3m

Maybe if they were all from one alliance, though I've never seen that much activity from either TF, or IG. And I've tried. MJ and I recently tried to get them moving, and only got one answer. Newbie alliances don't do this.

But this crowd is coming from both TF and IG, so somebody just made a crowd, and sent them at me.

Admin, please track, delete, and return my score, except of course the points I won from sweld. Well, I guess for fairness sake you should take those from me. But get rid of these players, and whoever made them.

Why are there not more stringent controls on IP address when people sign up?

Well, I guess they will be giving him some points, but it is, as he said, unbalancing to the game

It's definitely not a vet. Or at least, the playing style isn't. There's no thought to these fleets. Which is why I've been beating them, so far. I hadn't exactly been in a base defence mood, lately...

So, probably a new player.

Unless a vet wants it to look like a new player, ... but I'm getting paranoid.

Point is, doesn't matter who it is, this kind of thing can't be allowed.

(And if it is a vet, thanks for the points, and I'm honored you are so scared of me that you need to break the rules just to get up the courage to attack. Even _I_ didn't think I was THAT scary...)

So yeah. Probably just a newbie.
So knock it off!

Make the official complaint and send it in. It's easier for the "IP checkers" to look into it.

There is always someone who thinks that they can win through numbers and quantity rather than skill.

Sent it in before I posted here. Just hoping they get around to it, before too long.

And the problem with thinking that, what you say is, they're right. Eventually, throw enough ships at someone, you'll break through, no matter how skilled the person you're attacking is.

I've been lucky so far, that they haven't shown any talent whatsoever, but I'm running lower and lower on options...

Help what? Hit them, or hit me?

Maybe should have asked for their help, when you attacked me the other day, huh?

...(paranoid) Maybe you did?

Anyway, here they come and go, now, right on schedule.

[03:08] spacebot: Anglichu of Nuerj entered spacetrace
[03:28] spacebot: chibai of bow more entered spacetrace
[03:46] spacebot: penang of good entered spacetrace
[03:55] spacebot: Gentleness of Valour entered spacetrace

Sweld left about an hour ago, and penang actually turned around before hitting me, so I'm guessing the others are about to log in, and turn around, as well.

If I lived in a perfect world...

I didn't swank you. You sent a fleet in blind, and I took it apart. So yes, it is your fault.
You happened to have an eagle fleet, and I happened to have 15 apollo cruisers, but point is, I walked away from that, and you only limped away.

And I've been holding my own against this multi (2 attacks left...). I defy you to do the same.

But this multi is a lot worse than you are, so if you know of any of their base locations, yeah, stick it to 'em.

I'd rather someone just deleted their accounts, but can't have everything...

Jack;

Just look at different swanking set-ups.
See to it that your passive defense will punish a swank in some way, or at least not lose that big.
If you are defending actively, then there are several ways to counter swanks. If you are attacking, and fly into a swank and lose big, then you need to consider if the attack was well-considered, or if you need to look at the targets more closely. I suggest you read some of the educational BRs I have posted, and try to analyze your targets in a similar way.

Swanking is a great set-up against some targets. Against other targets it loses rather dismally. That's just the way it is.

i read some colin, very interesting, i just hate swanks, because it shows that you have no skill, just that you use power ships to destroy someone then brag, i like to dry different combos, random ass things that no one has thought of before to see how they work, emp with something mix, all kind of things, but know thanks to a lot of people im starting to look at it in a different way and i get the perspective of it. :)

not quite true jack. although I'm not a big fan of swanks my self, I have seen some complicated swank fleets before that were clearly more advanced than what your noobie could come up with. there are plenty of good defenses against swanks and I made quite a lot of points hunting swanks back in the days when "everyone" was using them.

I would believe them to all be multies. There is strong evidence to support it..

Looking up some of the names on 'Urban Dictionairy' - both the player names and the usernames have some reference to the word 'vagina'...

'penang', 'chibai' and chibai's username, 'puki', all seem to have the meaning for the same kind of.. area...

Now that's research for you!

Also, 4/5 races have been chosen. I would hazard a guess at the player being Filipino, due to the Filipino references above. But hey, this is all irrelevant. I will contact the 5 and see what they have to say, if no response, then, their accounts should be deleted.

Being a detective isn't glamorous, but somebody's gotta do it.
Nice catch, MJ.

Sweld came and hit me again, but this time I violated him pretty well.
Got about 650 today, and lost about 200 yesterday, at the end of everything. And my DA But my alliance mate came to help, and took some big bites out of a few of them.

So I'm getting points, but I still would like them removed, as it destroys the playability of the game.

I don't think asking them if they are a multi will result in anything but denials, if they do respond.
Also, all the fleets sent, including sweld's today, included various transport ships in the c2. Maybe this was a mass colonization effort, or something, but probably just one newb using ships he didn't understand.

And Jack, it's just like any fleet. It can be used skillfully, or very unskillfully. Just running ships into a fleet generally doesn't take a lot of planning, like you found with what happened to your eagle fleet.

But if you put the planning into it, and walk away with victory, that's where the skill comes from.

Swank fleets give you lots of options, and can be adapted for many different situations. So it's probably easier to win with one of them than some other fleets, but when all is said and done, it's not what it is, it's how you use it. Just like any tool. You use the right tool for the right job.

Because, as has been mentioned, swanks have several big vulnerable spots. They can disappear in a puff of stupid before you know what happened.

Anyway, it's not a swank fleet that I used against you.

class 3:
15 apollo cruiser (0/100, 85 MP)

enemy: 1132 ships
class 1:

class 2:
750 eagles (2/10, 4 MP)
45 wasps (1/10, 11 MP)

class 4:
1 mothership (0/1000, 320 MP)

summary:
enemy losses:
class 1:
335 penguins
class 2:
149 eagles
2 wasps
class 3:
1 cruiser

your losses:
class 1:
1 sporator
class 2:
1 destroyer
class 3:
1 apollo cruiser

score: 630

I had quite a few other ships, which I had to scrap, to minimize my own losses, and maximize yours. As soon as you came on my vessel scan, I planned my hit. Like with the sporator, rather than a fighter.

If you had a bunch of elite fighters, and I had a fighter, my fighter shoots, and your elite tear up my c3. So I used a sporator, which will self destruct and end the class fight.

You only had one c3, so I didn't want to kill it, before as many apollo cruisers as I had fired at your c2, so I scrapped several cruisers, and gunships, in order to get more shots at you.

You can pretend this was a swank fleet, and you can pretend I showed no skill, but your misguided opinions don't mean much to me.

You gave me 630 points. Whether I was skillful or not, I won.
