this building uses fast (fully accelerated ship-building technology) to build ships twice as fast as in the regular shipyard, but these ships require twice as much manpower. ships must be researched specifically for fast building separately from regular shipyard research before they can be built using fast. research times are the same as they are for regular shipyard research.

this is how its supposed to be:

FAST shipyard (building)


this building uses FAST (Fully Accelerated Ship-building Technology) to build ships twice as fast as in the regular shipyard, but these ships require twice as much manpower. ships must be researched specifically for FAST building separately from regular shipyard research before they can be built using FAST. research times are the same as they are for regular shipyard research.

battle details:is immune against the kill effect

this would only be possible as a basic research and it would be permanently for all ships.

so after finishing this research you would need double mp to build it but twice as fast.

it would be like the clone labs research

I would suggest making it 1/3 less time and 1/3 more manpower. 1/2 seems too much and, well, no good fleet is gonna consist of only 2500 manpower.

But I think this ship would be a false friend to newcomers - it looks as if 'yeah dude.. my ships are gonna build like twice as fast'.. when actually the real situation is 'yeah dude.. my ships are gonna build twice as fast.. but **it.. they're gonna take up twice as many manpower... ahh.. who cares about those 2500 less space guys anyway'...

So, I would make it into a technology, but perhaps accomonying the technology is a ship that will build instantly if you want to have half the manpower and double the time. This ship would recyle and not be involved in battle.. and would of course have the power to change your mp by 1/3 aswell as building time etc. And only if you have this ship built can you do the whole shipyard time thing. That way new players can delete it easily without being stuck with half or one third the manpower throughout their evo.

I cannot think of any reason why I would want to build this fast shipyard.
As it's permanant for the remainder of your evo, It's not even something I am willing to try out unless I'm 95%+ in evo.

i had emergency base defense in mind when i designed this. i wouldn't use this either if it was permanent.

since it's creator has given up on it, here is how i think it should work

it is a permanent building. it uses no mp. it can build ships twice as fast, how ever every ship will take 2wice as much mp to build. although it will give the original score if lost

kind of like how clone lab works. as admin mentioned.

could be an option to make it build 3 times as fast using 3 times mp or 4 times using 4 times mp and so on. could be a great building in emergencies.

it should be an extended script. you could always use your shipyard and fall back on the emergency in case of an emergency.

make the life 1 or 1000 with 200 score if its taken out. it's own build time should be much shorter to stay true to it's nature.. how about 4 hours build time

Most build and destroy games tend to have a rush job option, for getting units or buildings faster, but most of them tend to operate on collecting resources, or money, over time.

This game, we just have manpower, and it stays the same, barring clone lab, etc.

But we do have credits...

What if we could pay 1 credit per 100 MP we wanted right away, or a lot faster?

Need 500 MP built soon? Pay 5 credits.

That would encourage people to put pictures of their planets up, and then start inviting friends, to get the credits for that.

Downside, naturally, is the newbie helpers get lots of credits, and start building ships, rather than wormholes.

It's not a perfect system.

But maybe it's a start.

what i had in mind (which is very similar to mighty's idea) is that you could build using the regular shipyard or this accelerated/expensive one. admin, if you can confirm that this isn't a possibility, than i have no interest in this idea anymore. but if it is a possibility, then i think with a bit of refining it could be a very good addition to the game for emergency situations
