Profiles should be more Profiley

I think that profiles should become more like actuall PROFILES. I think they should have the planet description, ruler description and planet picture all on one page, with the player details and a little tiny flag to represent where they come from.

Then, there should be a link to message them, instead of the normal way round. I just think it would make it easier to figure your way round. It just doesn't make sense that when you click on somebodies name that you are sent to a link to message them, instead of seeing their profile. And the profile could contain lots of other exciting stuff! Maybe even like a.. homepage .


I don't know really, but what do you all think?

Well, it would all be a little extra loading time.

However, it shouldn't be like alliances, because I always click on their names (out of habit) and then it takes me to their homepage, while I wanted to message them.

A profile in itself isn't bad though, as long as it has a ''Send a message to this player'' link.

sorry to open up old topics but i had an idea relating to this discussion

theres a website called ning.com in which you can create your own social networking site

i think if someone created one for spacetrace and we could all have our own profiles and stuff if you guys wanted you can also have chatrooms/forums on there i mean i know weve already got some we dont use here but whatever

yea but myspace is just one profile for the game this idea is to create a social network where every player can have their own profile

Well, as I cringe at the very mention of ''social networking'' (for various reasons) I'm not too fond of the idea, also because we don't need to change the current system. I have (had) no problem with the current system.

All profiles do is force people to think of a quote they'd like to input or similar, and the only practical use is to somewhat describe the player and give information about him (or her). But we already do that.
