Download and extract to your spacetrace directory and run "TTC_VB6.EXE" will have to post instructions for use later on but, use is similar to ingame ttc but will take decimal numeric input (for use "from" fleets in warp and not at an integer point).

Suggestions, questions, bug reports are all welcome

Has to go home to try this download and install to a system w/o the vb6 libraries to ensure this works right for win 98 up

http://www.geocities.com/renadavis/VC_Shell.CAB

The latest vector calculator update. Install to spacetrace directory, download the probes.js from http://www.spacetrace.org/javascripts/ (also to your spacetrace directory). Go to preferences and set game directory to "file://C:\spacetrace\" Reload the entire st window and in your probes screen, next to any readings on moving fleets a "calc" link should have appeared. Clicking on this link will open a new window with the coords and vector components in xxx.xx/yyy.yy/zzz.zz: xxx.xxx/yyy.yyy/zzz.zzz format required for entry into the vc.

Run "VC_Shell.EXE" paste copy those parameters from that window into the input box of the vc shell, click run and a few seconds later you should have a new browser window open with the results of the vector calculator.
VC_Shell.EXE is merely an input program that runs another exe (vc.exe) with an internal command line call. vc.exe runs the calculation writes the result to c:\spacetrace\VC_result.htm then with it's own command line opens a browser window with a load call.

You do realise you've just given your co-ordinates for the whole world to see?

nice packaging

I made one of these (rather clumsy effort actually) and distributed in my alliance.

I also have a rather cool thing that calculates optimum solutions to a problem of the type:

Going by TWN (or wormholes, this is a parameter seetting) from point A to point B, where should one drop off the transwarp course in order to
1. Get the smallest remaining distance to a target X
2. Get the smallest total travel time from A to target X

Can't remember if I've posted it, but it would be nice to have in such a cute package

That manuver is what I refer to as a "hyperdrop" (dropping out of hyperwarp early)
An old hyper-drop I used to use (think one or both of the wh's may be down) was to reach the bh by departing the nanowolf wh (488/492/43) for A. Productice (516/506/57) and determine the dropout and eta's like this:

Updates / Additions for these 2 will be posted in 3 days or so.

TTC update will include entry error trapping (to avoid division by zero and other program crashes that would occur by incorrect / incomplete entry), and a synch timer to ensure fleets and reported coords / eta's are actual. (conners recent problem).

I will also work on trying to get the vc to run on the "calc" link click and eliminate the copy, paste step.

Also working to combine these 2 apps. into a single operational shell.

sounds good.

A nice package on the hyperdrop tool would be appreciated, at least by me

Posting ttc update asap (had troubles getting it on earlier). Entry errors willl now abort calculation and post errors in the msg frame.

Starting some work on a battle sim app to allow (among others) ship invention testing. 1st case may be that questionable psyclone.
1st bug encountered when one holo clone clones another, clone clones a holo clone and so on until pc stack overflow. So must exclude that possibility in my "clone syntax" UNLESS:

HAS ANYONE EVER KNOWN OF THIS TO HAPPEN AND WHEN IN THE SUB-BATTLE DID IT STOP?

EDIT: similar problem with steal syntax of pirate ship (and prirate / holo clone combos)

Berserk syntax is gonna take a while (with for-next loops ) :|

oh yea, the thread I was looking for and lol, changes too.

I do think I can add considerably back to this effort been using the newer C# language lately and this will start rolling again

Any problems with the latest releases I we should know about?

wireless access everywhere I go now, even on the open beach, so much that my connection lags from the # of people on a router in spite of the fact I have 3 availible channels to use.

and I am checking things out from the guest account. would you believe that a few years back people used to contact admin from here and there is a br sent to admin from then where someone actually came out here to 932/944/84 to hit on these accounts??? hmm that would be 12d minumum eta from the bh . long way to go for a twn and zero points

I will be modifying Renée's Hyperdrop TTC to allow the user to enter his alliance members coords along with the alliance mtwg current coords and the desired target coords. The app will then loop through all possible twn/mtwg hyperdrops and select the fastest route possible.
This will save the user from having to run them 1 by 1. When done and working the abilty to add in all wormholes will be added in.
Starting work on this myself by extending work already done and reusing code already written.

Back to work on all this. Renee has modified the ttc / hyperdrop calc to the above specifications as a "CoW strategy package" and will loop through an alliance member list or wormhole list and find the fastest route availible but, awaits my user instructions as it get rather involved now.
To make the greatest use of this software, alliances are advised to maintain/defend a complete twn network.
HTML versions are under development for those without the ability to run exe's

http://www.geocities.com/renadavis/MultiHDC.zip

download and unzip, run "MultiHDC.exe"

btw-this is for doing multiple hyperdrop calculation not for multi's to do hyperdrop calculations

you are presented with the above dialog but, now there is an "advanced" link in the title bar, clicking on that gets:

now leaving the "wormholes" radio button on and clicking "Load File"
gets:

all wormhole data is now entered an ready for proccessing.

use the horizontal scroll or the list box to select a departure wh, enter desired target (selecting the cn as an example) and click run:

the entire list has been loop calculated and the shortest eta has been set for display -- note: the horizontal scroll and the list box have switched to indexing the wh at the end of the hyper, and the result obtained for that route.

to run another 1st click reset.

The wh info file is: wh_list.txt
A sample alliance list is included as: pl_list.txt

note how the lists are done and substitute your alliance info in the player list for hyperdrop calculations using your alliance twn network.

Note in the sample player list the mtwg is treated as the "extra member". To change coordinate info make sure you are in departure select mode (click "reset") select the item to edit, edit the info, click "enter" and (to make permanent) "Save File"

also note: we still have alot to do in the area of data validation, invalid entries into the lists or into the input boxes will cause the app to terminate with an error code (ex. entering text into coordinates, incorrect text file format , etc)

example entry

Player1 of Planet1 -> player and planet name
877/825/33 -> coordinate string
1 -> "Hyper bit" set to 0 if no twn present

No twn will cause exclusion of player in the calculating.
We will explain more in detail asap and feel free to inquire

note: if you need one of us to work on your alliance list you are (for security reasons) advised to keep data out of my insiduous and covert intentions and substitute names and coords in any you send us to work on.

This also serves and my finals project for advanced computing and data structures class in college next week, and hopefully my bachelors degree will "arrive" early next year

We will continue to develop these apps and make availible to all regardless of race, sex, sexual orientation and / or conversions, suspiscions of multi'ing, stacking ability, score (relative or otherwise) and so on

Updates to this will come in a few days as well as a common shell for all the apps we have done.
David finally figured out how to "automate" log-on, basic fleet manuver, response to things such as incoming signals, and other AI on one of his programming tangents but, a breif test failed last night due to power interuption at home.
More on this later....

Next addition to the MHDC will be another function to get a player the fastest way to ENTER a wh or twn network from a given point in space as the shortest hyperdrop eta is meaningless if the start of the hyper is very distant from the player.
