|
|
We all know how many players are in IG and TF.. yeah.. like half the ST population.. and what I think is that the players in those alliances do not know that they are actually in a noob alliance.. maybe they can't read or something.. anyhow; we also know that both IG and TF have scores going into the negative thousands.. well.. why don't we say that
Anyone in TF and IG can battle, however, the points they accumlilate OR lose will not count, and a little message at the bottom of the BR will say...
'You would have won x points. If you wish to win or lose points in battle, quit IG/TF'.
Thus would conquer two birds with one lynx deoderant spray ().. IG and TF members would not lose OR win points, and there would not be as many players in these two alliances as they'll all be wanting to make points .
This also means that the IG/TF score should be at 0, intime for the next era .
ALSO
Players from IG and TF can take hold of the scoreplanet but would not accumilate any points either!
Players who fought against IG and TF members WILL lose and win their points.
Now, aren't I a clever boy? |

I was chatting to lowvoice and came up with the idea that maybe there could be like a limit of how long a person is allowed to be in IG/TF.. maybe 20% of their evo or something. |

It's the alliance for n00bs. You still are after more then 3 evolutions. So why kick them out.
Besides, why would they not be allowed to score in the first place? _________________ Nulla poena sine lege.. |

I think that sounds good.
have the message they recieve contain a link to the Recruit section of the forum.
so would that also mean the anyone that fights them wouldn't lose or gain points?
would we lose our ships or would it be like fighting the battle sim?
we would just fight them as say part of the recruiting process...
the only 20% of evo sounds cool too. wow imagine how many new members we can get in our alliance that way.
i'll vote to add this if you change it to be.......
after they are at 20% evo IG and TF member become a battle sim and tells them of it
their points return to zero
they must go and pick an alliance or start one
joining an alliance at anytime before 20% they return to zero
that way if you hunt for noobs you can fight them in thier first 20% of evo and win or lose against them for points, they get a taste for the points and battles, then they sim and zero out at 20%. you could even have it as part of the noob protection help screens and keep it on like them for the 20% until they join an alliance
we all get more new zero points members in all our allinces and new ones will emerge. and if you know and join an alliance before your 20% you should reset to zero, that way it is balanced and fair.
really sounds good. and if after an era it dont work out, change it back to how it is now with 100 players in the tf and ig and 90 of them are too scared to talk to anyone for fear of getting hammered on. |

it's not an entirely stupid idea. getting players off newbie alliances to smaller ones where they get more concentrated action and teaching is a good thing. but i would not throw them out and cutting their points is not the way either.
but the core of the idea i like. |

its stupid because they wont learn anything if they cant gain or lose points. kicking them out of the newbie alliance dosnt sound bad but the score thing does. if they cant gain or lose points then ppl they fight wont gain any points if they win. an if the ppl that fight them win they will have wasted the time building those ships for nothing |

I actually clearly said:
Players who fought against IG and TF members WILL lose and win their points in the battle.
This counts for every battle against a TF/IG member... whether they are battling or.. I don't know.. battling... one side (the player who is not in IG/TF) WILL win OR lose points, however, the player in IG/TF who is on the other side WILL NOT/WILLN'T win or lose thier points.
The IG/TF guy can evalaute on his battle, what went on, what ships were useful and what different ships did, so that he can prepare for the next battle WITHOUT ANY RISK, an option that has not been allowed before.
If he/she from IG/TF does not want this no-risk option, then they can simply leave IG/TF. _________________

still somone dosnt lose points which is the main aspect of the game. whats the point of making a game with points when some ppl are immune to its effect? no ones gonna learn anything from not losing any points so still no good. |

might be easier to deal with the starters like you do with the 1 and 2 person alliances. they can play as normal, but at the end of era thier scores dont count in the stats.
make the 2 alliances and all members not on the stats, and maybe that will get some people to leave them.
a nag banner or something of theat nature, like even a redirect every so often to a nag screen telling them that they won't get any stats or score, and that they should consider joining an alliance and such.
most new players have no clue about what era means and what an evo is or does. i didn't, and the manual is vauge about it. and most new players never make it to a point where thier score counts anyway.
so the simplest thing to do would be to leave it just as it is.... ain't broken so don't fix it. |
