flak destroyer (class 2 ship)


its flak cannons spray explosive shells indiscriminately into space. it is highly effective against enemy fighters, though friendly fire often occurs. ships suffering such attacks are often annihilated.
as it carries large quantities of explosive ammunition, once the hull is penetrated, the flak destroyer will explode, rendering it beyond repair.

50 c1 ships from each side are destroyed. if the flak destroyer is destroyed, it cannot be repaired.

battle details:fights
(battle engine syntax: f)
modifies AP/LP by 0/-15 of 50 ships of any ship-type in both fleets in class 1

if this ship gets destroyed it self destructs!

My first invention... since I was bored and I only have a final tmr... Basically a smaller version of the Spectre for Humans, since Humans and Nanites kind of suffer from not having a good C1 killer in C1. Nanites have the Nano Bomber though, so Humans get this, plus, it's kind of Human themed anyways.
Only thing I'm not sure of is the manpower, could be a too low, too high. I based it a bit off the Spectre, which is kind of a 2:5 ratio for mp to ships killed/damaged. But this one kills, so I made it slightly higher, at 1:2 ratio. I threw in the self-destruct thing since I wasn't sure if the mod command would mod itself or another same ship in your fleet.
mp should be in the 25-40 range? everyone reading this probably has more experience than me anyways, what do you guys think?

i think this ship is to strong... a cyclops with 120 mp do the same with 100 ships but the class 1 is reconstructable after the cyclops strike.

Your ship with a cloud of eagels ...

I have to dissapoint you guest, a cyclops also destroyes thus maken class 1 unreconstructeble: (battle engine syntax: destroy,enemy,100,1,all,cyclops destroys)
I think the best use for this ship is in situations where you will be fighting class 1 with class 2 (eagle fleet forinstence like guest said). I don't know if it is to powerfull but imagine attacking 1000 class 1 ships with just 20 of these, add shield generators or mobile repair bots and you got an easy battle. Althought blockades will mess this up

yeah... ships destroyed by the cyclops are reconstructable
XD and yeah, the self destruct thing is the only thing I could think of that would make it un-reconstructable
would it be better to just make it self-destruct? or increase the mp?

I personally HATE the whole "self destruct" thing. U spend all that time building it and then hauling it to the fight... for 1 attack.

And, of course, u dont want to use ships like that in a "Post Evo" fleet...

Id say Up the mp as needed to avoid that effect.

Excellent zenachi...the destruction is triggered and the ships Self destructs so it can't be reconstructed, that's really good indeed;)

But even so you can not escape with that trigger of the advantages you have, ok?
0/-15? That's too much man....
Remember you can have a "destroy" function on your ship or a "modify" one.
So if you are going to modify some c1 ships with your c2 ship it should be 0/-1 or 0/-2.

It is too powerful, the mp should be:

Modifying 0/-1 = 90(for me) and maybe more
Modifying 0/-2 = 135

btw... this is more comparable to the spectre instead I would think, since both are in C2.
Increase the mp to 40 would be better? It does only kill half the number the spectre does and the blockade runner is still immune to it

the Spectre does 0/-1 for 400 mp for 1000... this thing is in C2 too
but I think lowering the damage done to -2 would be good...

So, if it is changed to reducing lp to -1 or -2 and stays sd when destryed this is a good ship? I think so, haven't been convinced yet that it is to strong. Because like spectre, cyclops and interseptor it has the same weeknesses which are blockades and evaps. 100 of these vs 100 evpaps is 1300 extra points. Ofcourse these might be harder to see coming at you.

This ship is not needed, humans can build spectres and nanites can build cyclops, each race has a strong point, if you build this into humans then you might as well make appolos type ships for kazzula. Or better yet don`t have races and we can all build the same stuff?

I just thought of something. This ship would be very powerfull if you add raptors to it. If it ever was added maybe the mp should go up to 30-40 mp. Imagine hitting the class 1 with these and raptors, there would be no class 1 and class 2 left over. I know how to make this combo even worse but I'm keeping that a secret for if it ever makes it to a pre warp
Maybe it should oneday be added to score planet, just a cupple, enough for me to test that fleet
