Is there any really nice programm which is completely free and which is virtually based on the layout and the workings of Photoshop?

paint.net is my personal favourite free image creation software or like the admin said you could use GIMP which despite its awful name is a very good substitute and unlike paint.net it works in linux

Yes, I use Paint.NET. it's actually better than Photoshop.
I don't like GIMP cos there are too many windows and stuff..
