code probe


the probe uses special technology to work out the last attack- code a person used. it will self destruct 5 minutes after the scanning of the new co-ordinates, so you will have to be online once the data has been collected. because of its big computer it takes a long time to build and is not that fast either.

Looks interesting, would put alliances under presure. And oscilation probes don't help as it self destructs after 5 minutes :p

Well, imagine attacks on flag holders, and the black hole!

You can just circumvent everyone's fleet except the base fleet and get the flag!

(Although, I do hope it is activated manually? Because otherwise it would be rather annoying)

i am not sure... this would cause a lot of trouble.
alliances wouldnt be able to coordinate their attacks.

i think the pressure that spies can have on alliances is already quite a lot of work

thanks KoT , i overlooked the flagcapturing thing (in my post in the other (?) thread)

i still think this invenion adds less tactical value. Its only usefull if the defender is offline between probing and attack, or doesnt change attackcode when he noticed he's attacked.
And the attacker takes a big risk, if his attack depends on this.

i think it would make the game just that much more annoying to play. it takes 7 days to build this thing, but you never know if someone already doesn't have it ready. i prefer not to feel paranoid and switch attack codes all the time because of this thing.

Well, still, it was my best idea yet. I've gone from awful inventions to reasonably good ones. I'll keep trying and who knows.. maybe one day...
