There getting some points becuase it's a new era. Something interesting has happened that noobs actually know about so they're getting all hyper and starting to fight back.
Don't be suprised if a topic is started entitled:
Anti-noobsarebashingustopeiceswhentheyshouldntbebecuasewerevetsandweshouldbebashingthem Effort
But then the vets start to come out of their mortal misery of having all thier previous points go to waste cos the era has ended, and they will soon start to bash the noobs again. Or each other. They will get more points and more topics will spring up like 'Shade is a multy' or FG vs IG - Battle of the Something-G's....
Which very few people will care about  .

I think alot may have more than one account or did. But, not intentionally, some create an account then decide they dont like the default name assigned by ST (and are not aware of your ability to change in within 24h of start).
I recently got a pm from someone asking me if he could do the name change after 24h of start and told him he could not. So he created another account then ask me how to delete the former one (also done )
On the noobs:
researched technologies players
shipyard 150
investigation probe 150
research center 150
improved field theories 75
I would say 1/2 of st is probably abandoned accounts as they have not even done the 1st research everyone does :|
On laying off the noobs in general: last thing I want is to get a huge alliance score early in the round and pretty much decide the outcome in the 1st 2 weeks, large mega-alliance or not esp. with > 3 months to go.
