Of particular interest (by prewarps I mean the 4 "specials"):

Unstable Reconstructor (kames invention and probably the best of the prewarp ships )
Protector (c2 version of a blockade runner).
Raptor (c2 version of a plasma gunship)...still in prewarp stock
Commando Carrier (source for commando fighters)...still in prewarp stock
Sporogenator (source for sporators)...still in prewarp stock
Holo Generator (best way to hit "decapped c1/c2 stacks" with apollos and/or cyclopses)...still in prewarp stock
Heron (c2 version of a flamingo)
Frigate MK II (a "mini-spectre")
Cerberus Fighter ("sab fighter" for c3)
V-2005 Rocket (a c1 "flying saucer" with SD)

others ?
Oblirator (a "double barrel" ps gunship...kills 2 c3 / turn...leaves kills reconstructable)
Attack-Down Cruiser (kills 1 c1, 1 c2, 1 c3 / turn....leaves kills reconstructable)
Elite Fighter (a c1, targets c3, very difficult to use...destroys 10 of your own c2 getting a 27 ap hit to a c3...forces you to go light on c2)

Adding these to production may or may not be such a good idea though....since we dont have time in an evo to do the ones we got availible although we will get alot more variation in what we decide to research

nice post , thank you. we could remove some unloved ships from the tec tree and add some of these. i think the oblirator is too strong. the frigate mkII could be a good ship for nanites.

we will discuss that.

By adding more ships you'll add diversity in the researches the vets and even noobs do. By doing this you'll mix it up a bit rather than have all the vets go mycilliod or eray.. some experiment with other races but when they get serious (war or trying to get in hall of fame) they use these races.

Its almost like a RPG where you can choose a race and then a class/profession, but in ST it'll be like choosing a race (Human) then branch of research you go into (Destruction aka kamies and what not). Most people research the same researches over and over.
