1. Jammers first:

I read the blurb in the manual ref these ships. The discussions goes on about how you can use lots of jammers in class 3 to make it seem like you have a load of cruisers etc.

BUT isn’t the job of the jammer to block ENEMY dsp scans. Since I can’t see if it’s working does anyone know:

If they only scramble dsp data of the fleet it is in.

OR

If they scramble all dsp readings in a certain scan radius

(I presume the first)

Has anyone seen this work i.e. a dsp report with one fleet scrambled?

2. Pirate Flagship

If the fleet with flagship hits a multi fleeted target coords is it supposed to get a battle-pause for all the fleets at that coord or just the one fleet it has attacked.

I noticed that my flagship fleet got battle paused for all the fleets (could be due to other reasons) preventing me from attacking again the other fleets at the cords (quite annoying! ).

pirate flagship automatically cloaks your fleet when you had one battle so if there are 3 enemy fleets at some place you'll only fight one

I know that...BUT... does/should the battle pause effect also the other fleets.

Check out the following scenario:

1. Score planet has 3 enemy fleets. call them A B C
2. You send 1 fleet with flagship (fleet F)
3. Flag ship fleet arrives at score planet.
4. Battles fleet A ONLY
5. CLOAKS! automatically after battle.
6. You move Flagship fleet away from score planet.
7. Uncloak flagship fleet.
8. Re-attack score planet....

....THIS IS WHERE MY QUESTION COMES IN...

since u have only fought 1 fleet (fleet A) at the score planet can you attack the others on your re-attack. If not then the battle pause effects all enemy fleets.

no

there is a certain fleet setup that would suffer dreadfully if the flagship were to be changed

the flag ship is designed so that hit and runs can be possible...and most fleets wit ha flagship tend to be expensive and specialist fleets.

however, then tend to to be weak...only good for a single battle.

No?

No as in it does not cause a battle pause with the other fleets OR no as in it does?

I have found some useful plays with the battle pause effect (e.g. multiple incoming targets can be delt with one at a time and prevents battle on second fleet if ships are swaped)

Also any one know about the jammer?

jammer does not scramble enemy dsp readings. it's soul purpose is to make your enemy believe you have mass c3 ships, which is a rather cool thing.
you might have been confused by the description - this vessel can jam enemy scans.
all it really means is that the jammer "lies" to the enemy dsp about you having an extra c3.

Indeed...

Also, yes, if you battle vs 3 fleets that are at the same sector with the flagship all of them get the battle pause even if you just battle 1 (remember you can put on "inactive" the cloak function of the FS)

As the fleets get the battle pause so the ship, so you cant put the FS in other fleet and fight.

With the jammers, try this:
1. Build 35 or so of them.

2. Build a mothership, and a Doomstar.

3. Send fleet someplace, and someone will see 0 0 35 2 on their DSP.

4. They'll think, "Ah, swank fleet inbound!"

5. They'll send loads of evaporators, and probably leave their c2 and c3 in the fleet, because they aren't very worried. They know the evaps will kill off your whole fleet.

6. Until the battle, at which point all the jammers disappear, and the Doomstar wipes out their whole fleet.

7. Laugh maniacally, and rub your hands together. Sneaky you!

PLZ send your set up to my base every day ilofuyci , you would lose every battle . you would lose your jammers and your doomstar , I don't need that much evaps to attack a swank fleet to carry more MP to lose points against yours

^ LMAO

Shame that the jammers dont actually jam. Should be called spammers. to whomever gave it that name!

As for Flagships. As I said; the battle pause used correctly against multiple enemies can frustrate gangbangers easy.

You can also use it in attacking too

Thanks all
