we installed a new subgame of spacetrace which is in alpha status now.
! i need some testers ! - here the manual:

the beginning: algas & amoebas
algas can use sunlight to grow. amoebas are little creatures which eat algas.
the occurance of lifeforms depends on the planetary conditions !
(no life if the planet is too near or too far away from the sun, occurence of water etc.)

genetic engineering: create an animal
your job is now to do genetic engineering on a amoeba to invent more complex lifeforms. you can improve:
- the complexity of your animal: complex animals are at the top of the food chain
- the fudder range : a large fudder range will enable your animal to eat more stuff . each creature can only eat creatures with less complexity, within fudder_range)
example: elephant has evoution state 4 and a fudder range of 3, so it can eat creature with the complexity of 1,2,3
- the agility : a animal of the same complexity but with a higher agility will eat first
- the biomass : how big is your animal
- the fertility : how effective will the fudder be used, a fertility of 1000 means 100% of the fudder will be eaten up.
- extra abilities: animal are specialised to live on cold,warm, etc. planets

after the invention of an animal , you will find it in the whole universe.

the food chain
you can imagine there is a food chain : algas - amoeba - coral - fish ... etc. (ordered by complexity&agility)
i will post here all rules , so you can understand how the food chain works.

winner of the evolution
GOAL of the game is to invent the most successfull animals, that hopefully eat the most hated enemies animals, try to find evolutionary gaps.

TESTERS can help me:
* balancing the rules
* balancing the gene boosters
* invent new gene boosters

PLS: !!! try to name your animal with a fitting name, so not give your amoeba like plant the name elephant

have a try at:
com player -> send message to player -> planet -> view planetary system / creature lab
if you find no life in the system you choosed , try another one.

the creature laboratory
*choose a gene booster
*click on the picture
repeat step 1&2 until you are happy
*choose a fitting name
* be sure what you are doing check the check box
* submit
-- only one creature per day --

thx and have fun

This only makes the spacetrace server even slower.

I'm confused.

I see this:

none
4 th
distance from central star 212.3 [mio. km]
O2: 11, CO2: 6, CH4: 8
water: 189, sun: 682 [W/m²]

alga 659X1=659 points
frosty bubble 23X1=23 points

But how do I actually do something?

this means:
this planet has water and the sun intesity is above 600 W/m^2, so llife is possible, but it is very cold. Algas can deal with that and grow here and produce some biomass. amoebas cannot life in the cold so they cannot grow here, but the frosty bubble is like a amoeba which can life in the cold, so it eats some of the algas , in fact 23, because it is not very fertile, and produces 23 points for me

click on the creature lab above, you will come to a page where you can engineer a creature.

try to understand the actions you can perform and the values that are shown
and ask

I only discovered where "Creature lab" was written now.

I presume that the box above "Submit Query" is for the name of the creature?

If so, what do I enter into in the box below "submit query".

I apologise for all the questions that I am asking but I am very new to this.

no problem ... hehe it is badly written right now

the first box is the list of boosters seperated by commas , you do not need to edit them , just click on the pictures.

in the second box you put in the name of your creature

Orionese Beetle
biomass 4
evolution state 4
agility 2
fudder_range 1 (means for this creature : can eat creatures with a evolution state 3 )
fertility 17
low_sun_intensity,"agressive"

it cannot find food yet, because there is no animal with the evolutionstate of 3 at the time, but maybe soon

It is confusing, but I am getting a better understanding of this all the time, so I look forward to tomorrow where I can attempt to make a second animal, (hopefully alot better)

EDIT: It just clicked, my animal is evolution "4" and its fudder is one so it eats things one evolution below. I get it now!! Very interesting.

i think the fertility drops too fast by increasing the complexity, i will change that soon .
