hit mine (class 1 ship)


this bomb is placed in your fleet. as soon as it´s hit by any enemy ship, it will damage it by 3 lp, and then self destruct. these were mainly used in large swarms, intercepting enemy fleets. this technology was put aside when the interceptor, not attacking them directly, and still destroying them, was invented, but resurrected in these times of war. it´s building and research time is very low due the simplicity of the concept.

researchtime: 20 h
buildingtime: 10 h

needed research:
fanatic warfare

battle details:if this ship is hit it modifies AP/LP by 0/-3 of 1 ship of any ship-type in the enemy fleet in the same class
(battle engine syntax: trigger_hit@mod,enemy,1,this,all,+,0,-3)
self destructs!

mmmh... seems fair, destroys bulk fighters... but not normal fighters... let's see... Destroyers... you need 4 of them to destroy 1, so not for destroyers...
you need 34 of them for one cruiser... so no. This isn't really balanced... Only thing you might be able to use them for is bulk fighters...

Convict: 2MP would be good, it would still counter masses of these against C1, but it would be no losses against c2, and profit against c3, that's probably what it was supposed to do.

Sorry, you have to do your maths before inventing, but i like it anyway

I think it can be rather dangerous against c3.
If a pack of these fights against higher class ships its party time.
Its some sort of low fire power evaporator, it shoots when fired upon.

Imagine what would happen if a shockwave type ships hits these little mines. it will do them 1 dmg all, but all ships which are hit (let's say a hundred) will fire back with 3 ap. Which in effect is a 300 ap firepower comin back at ur c3.
This will cost you 300mp but you could gain some nice points aswell.
Also bulk fighters are a nice target, against standard c1 it's too expensive to gain points.

Hmm i think its rather balanced too, im not sure if i will use it but i'd like to give it a test run.

I have to say no to this one. The very delicate spectre / sg combo would suffer from this (already gets devastated by apollo's and indirect attacks from sab fighters and etc).

Even Reneé's tactic of knocking out the c2 and c3 then hitting with a c1 block in your spectre fleet (and the spectre hits c1 from a c2 vs. c4 battle) would fail as I assume this thing (like the evap.) would hit back at the class that modifies it?

....ex. 50 of these and that costly spectre / sg set-up is toast....

Seems like Dave likes his spectres... Well, your spectre won't be harmed, this has a hit trigger, not a mod trigger... So, the spectre will be safe i think...

DD has beaten you Dav...and i think is more important here that in the universe:P I couldn't say it better...

Now the problem, and i hope DD didn't invented this...is that the ship is...USELESS. (there you go Darklim...remembers still there)

1- First it has the same problem that the evaporator...it says "in the same class" so for now, it can only be useful against c1s (but sometimes the syntax works like he wants too xD)
2- It needs to be hit to use the ability, so its useless vs ships with abilities
3- There isn't a c1 that bad so you can win points with this ship LOL
4- Even if it could use the ability against other classes it stills the same

100 of this against 1 cruiser
1 cruiser actives 1 mine...the rest self destructs...

Score: -100.

An easy NO GOOD!

Last time i did something in the class it's fighting with, it displayed "In the same class aswell... So, i guess it should b in the same class it's fighting with.

I mean, this doesn't happen unless the enemy has loads of c1, which will of course be dealt damage by the mine... You will lose points, but i can imagine a HUGE minefield... with like 500 of these.

I think it's a good idea, make it 2 MP, and it's perfect to me.

Point 3- WTF DD? this ship is useless against those 3 ships, none of them can FIGHT=HIT it, you get that? Even so...commandos and retreats? who cares??

Point 4-
I think there aren't more than 10 perfect battle situations where use fighters + bounties ain't better than "hit mine" + bounties. Back to reality man

Point 5- (About the battle situation)
First of all....against c1 is COMPLETELY useless
And vs that cruiser, why would they self destruct? because the invent has SD on his syntax, DAH?
It self destructs without being fought or hit...so as the sub-battle isn't over because the cruiser still alive all the "hit mines" take their turn and self destruct.

Thats an error he made I think. Its only supposed to selfdestruct if its triggered.

If that wasnt an error, the ship is pretty useless.
