Spacetrace server off?

Well first of all i dont know if the admin is noticed or if someone realized that it has happened many times...
Constantly at 6 am(germany time i think) the page of ST and the ST forum goes off and nobody can log in...it hasnt been explained and i would like to know why?

Second...if this is happening why isnt the server returning to normality at the same time when it went off?...i mean the time that the server goes off is wasted...and it has no sense...it affects to everybody...if the server goes off an entire month it has to return at the same day, not wasting the whole month...i think is unfair.

the backupscript was flooding the harddisk

i changed that now

This happened last night, 2 nights before and 2 nights before that as well.
It occurs starting 10 pm pst (6am gmt) and we cant get on until the next day.
Would not be a problem but occurs in the critical last hour of the day for us, and the next day, leaves us spending the next 12h to get back to where we were.
We also miss most incomings at the BH (happened last night before I could move my scout out :S )

Yesterday (it was relatively late in the afternoon) I couldnt log in. This was not 6 am german time, as I live in holland.

Well, not being able to log in isnt the proper term. If I type in the URL it says it cant connect to the server.


Ive had this a few times before. It also happen with a game called Age of Pirates, which is full of bugs, so im guessing the fault isnt on my side.

at 10 pm pst (6am gmt) the server is doing backup, so it has a lot to calculate at this time and it s possile, that ST is very slow for a few minutes.

the offline time was only last night, cause the harddisk was full. (this doesent happen normally)

but maybe you can think of this hour as a slow ST time, and don`t lay your attacks right at this time

Runescape has this too. For several minutes you cant log in, because they are saving all saved games to DVD. This way, if one of the servers crashes, it can back it up, and only progress from that day was lost.


So ST has a backup? If a powersurge blows it all up, we can still play (be it that time is set somewhere in the past)? Good to know.
