sidewinder (class 2 ship)

uses nuclear fission to jam a c2 in your own fleet (and trigger a retraitor). however all c2 take a -1 hit to lp from the radiation discharge.

advanced tactics

battle details:fights
(battle engine syntax: f)
jams 1 ship in your fleet in class 2 and you get back the initiative
battlemessage: "radiation discharge jams jams ... ships"
(battle engine syntax: jam,self,1,2,radiation discharge jams)
modifies AP/LP by 0/-1 of all ships of any ship-type in your own fleet in class 2
battlemessage: "radiation discharge damages ... ships"
(battle engine syntax: mod,self,all,2,all,+,0,-1,radiation discharge damages)

Well, this may just bring a rarely used ship out I never encounter retraitors except for the planet crusher start-up fleet and never bothered to research or use them.

And all those non-apollo 0 0 84 1's and etc. had better get some c2 blocks in OR....

retraitor (class 2 ship)
if this ship is jammed it will destroy 2 enemy vessels

attack/life: 10/6
manpower: 8

researchtime: 1 d
buildingtime: 11 h

OUCH!!!

We could try it...but if we accept this we will have to accept any new ship taht is specially made to do a strategy with another particular ship...
Why not to expand races:P?

this reminds me of a ship i once invented that would of helped the retraitor...


Rough Stetch, this is with the arguements..

dont know about this ship.. it looks good and yet, maybe too powerful..

Heres what im thinking.. why its good is because makes a ship to good use..

the bad thing is... HOW ELSE ARE YOU GOING TO USE THIS???? wow, this ship has only ONE purpose and thats to activate the retraitor....

So i say no good do to the fact that its only purpose is to activate a single ship.. bang head

Activating a retraitor INDIRECTLY from c1 is probably going to cause it to take out 2 c1... ....not a very favorable result (esp. 19mp -> 2 retraitor + i-recon = 4 fighters, penguins, etc, for 4 points ).

This is why the evap / sporator combo works on the CLASS THE C1 FIGHTS against. If the sporator was c2 then the evaps would only be able to retal / kill c2 AND vice versa...the sporator c1 and the evap c2 then the evap would kill an ENTIRE c1

In short the trigger needs to be the same class as the triggered ship or you cant fight any class except the trigger's class.

This combination would be horribly effective (esp on c3) and like Renee said death for those idiot c3 spammers that insist on no c1 and c2 blockage ...a counter? ....lol...think I can come up with about 2 dozen relatively simple ones from spamming c1 after stripping the c1 off the target stack ... to a huge eagle spam... to an apollo swank.

And like the i-recon this has no other purpose other that to make a generally unused ship very useful which perhaps justifies it's use.

Might be worth a try....

the i-recon could attack the c2 and c3!!! just need to know how to use them like the kamikazis.. you wouldnt attack a c1 fleet with kamies now would you??

also the i-recon has more use than this ship.. the i-recon could block an enemy's c2, and with other ships to help take out enemy c2.. not hurt its own c2 by 1 and then stop it from attacking.. hmmm..

EDIT: ok.. i lookd at the retraitor and see how it differs.. ok i see my mistake thanks to Renee! ... but anyways, i think the i-recon is still a good ship and so is this but i believe this ship needs something else to make it more flexible with other ships..
