I was wanting to build a ship similar to the fleets invader. Except it works in battle as follows
a) It is either a class 1 or 2 ship
b) It may or may not deploy 'droids' ships similar to comando-troopers
c) These 'droids' then board the mothership in the same attack/sub-battle and ends whole battle by causing the enemy fleet to be sent back to base
c) However it self-destructs
d) With sd it destroys at least own classes 1, 2 and 3 (possibly 4 as well therefore cannot keep it in base - can keep it at base coordinates)
e) It has a very high mp
Is there any way of finding out the syntax for the comando-troopers so that trooper technology can be incorporated into ships? _________________ Darkfire

A ship like you outlined may have a place in new inventions. There could be a place for a ship that causes the enemy fleet to return to thier home base by taking over the mothership or commanding enemy MS to return to base. It should be a self -destructing ship like you say and cost somewhere between 150-200 mp. Something like a fleets recall invader only this ship would work on 1 fleet only and when used, almost automatically give the opposing fleet approx. 150 points upon it's self destruction. Provide a warp field for itself, be useless for attacking opponents bases but great for helping "thin out" fleets parked at the BH or Pulsar at the same 150 pts cost. Could be used for self base defence once again at a 150 mp cost to the builder. Causing complete destruction to your own ships in the same fleet probably a good thing ensuring this ship is used on it's own.
ATM, I cannot think of any unfair advantage this ship would give the user or the person on the receiving end of it. It provides a slightly different approach for some strategic applications both on defence and offence. |

At the moment there is no battle syntax (in ship builder) that can be used on ship construction to allow it to send fleets home
Unless ofcourse ST/admin releases the syntax used for comando troopers of the fleets invader to bring fleets home _________________ Darkfire

Well if it only sends one fleet back then, why not save your self the point loss, hit the damned incoming, take it the hell out, and score instead??? _________________ "Destruction leads to a very rough road

I was thinking along the lines of a base defence fleet. If you had multiple incommings and were at the far side of the galaxy with a minimum base fleet, you could perhaps combine your 3 fleets into 2 fleets, build a ship that sends 1 enemy fleet home, and protect your base, hopefully with your remaining base defence. The build time would have to be fairly short to accomplish this manouver however. |
