that seems to be quite complicated, maybe someone can make a homepage, where you can enter the coords araoud which you want to scan and you get the result where you have to send your probes to get the best result.

I know that probes scan spherical but I can't calculate with that yet...
So I decided to calculate with the biggest cube inside the sphere. This is 14.14³ or 2828.43 sectors using the ip and 24.04³ or 13896.06 sectors using the wrsp. The advantage here is that can scan without leaving anything out but therefore you will need more probes and won't be able to scan in a radius...

I am trying to cover more distance space.Between radius of 30 sectors to 64 (2 X 17) sectors. The wrsp took 58 hrs to reach the location. is it cost effective?? Is there some way to accelerate research -- it took too long.

then there is also the fact that new players pop into the game in sectors you have already scanned.

Yeah but you scanned their planets. So you'll see them as players won't you.

How big is the space in this game? Administor or Game Designer -- please answer.
How does the game allocate new players?
What is the closest distance between planets?

I guess space goes from 0/0/0 to 999/999/99.
The closest space between planets I saw was about 4 sectors.

did you see the galaxy in the HQ-screen when you press on "view position in the galaxy"?

this is the galaxy - it is real and it has place for over 2 million planets, so go outside and tell some people, we need more players

and Lord Philemon seems to have eyes of an eagle

You have to send more probes to get more planets. You can also enter co ords manually. These are the ones other players tell you about. You hit the search player button with the guys name, when it comes up you click on it then type in the co ords and add the player in. He will appear in your com list in a section above your scanned stuff.

Thanks, your explanation is clearer than the instruction displayed: "Use Shift + Left Mousbutton to Zoom"
