| Thought I'd run a Poll to how well the ST community is welcoming new players and the poll is for people with 6 months or 2 evo's or less. I think Admin would like to see what new players think of the overall game experience for new players. Of course anyone is allowed and encouraged to make comments. |

The poll idea is ok...I wanted to have a YES / NO checkbox however I seldom do any polls and my format obviously falls very short of being able to quickly tick off the good/ bad categories .
This is why I'm disappointed with the results.

This is a good post
I've been on here for 31 days, I think.
My impressions at the start were good, I found the forums interesting, and fun, but also ruined by spambots, such as KoT, and Jort, and people who just disliked your opinion and acted as if they were the boss, above everybody, which was very anoying, and stupid, this still happens.
There was some who sweared sometimes, and whoever does swear over reacts, and is usually just trying to show off.
The ingame ST, was very confusing, and I really didn't understand anything at first. Then I got beter, but there are still some things that I realy don't understand, but make me look like a noob, which I'm not.

After playing 6 months...I still felt like a noob and I realize there is still stuff for me to learn after 1.5 yrs of playing. Many Ships I have yet to try...even in the species I have used a few of times.
Now...I'm certainly not saying there is too many ships or anything like that but just letting some players know, even after over a year, I still feel inadequate about many fleet set-ups and I'm still looking for that ship combo that really rocks.
The forums are much better now than when I first started playing despite there being occassional posts of malicious content.
I guess one of my biggest gripes is the length of time req'd to research ships as there is no way to ever try them all during an evo and the ships I have not tried yet far exceed the one's I have tried.
Even if research times were 50% less, I think it would be not possible to try all available ships in an evo. |

on topic: i like the game because of the tactics. The coordination, the order. Its being part of a complex system thats fun for me.
