OK the manual says,
alliance play
another important feature of the game are alliances.
you can start a new alliance in your headquarters: just enter a tag for the new alliance, then you can open a new alliance. to join an alliance, you need the tag and password. in the forum you can ask for alliances
I put in my desired tag and password, and I get an error message returned, the password for the alliance '' isn't right. I have tried several different names and passwords, however the same message comes up.
What the heckfire am I doing wrong?

First put in a tag, then you get a screen about what alliance you want to create, and you need to re-enter that tag, an alliance name and a password.

no, he was trying to make his own alliance. This was solved in *** april.
