Now i want to be sure i have this down. For allied fleets not to attack each other, they have to have attack codes? You would think that when becoming a member of an alliance, all alliance ships would not attack each other. So, what are the attack codes i need to install on my fleet to stop it from trashing on my allies?

yea , you are right !

it is a bit enervating some times and even leads to unwanted firendly fires...

there are two general codes: attack(red), defence(green)... attackers wont atack other attackers, defenders wont attack other defenders.

--> !!! as every base and mtg is ALLWAYS on defence(blue) you have to reach friendly ones allways with that "code"... !!!

the sense of having a code is, that you might want to attack in any case (not giving the prey the ability to change to you attitude to get away )

in addition two or more players/alliance could agree the use of the same secret code...

the attack within alliances is wanted to make it possible to # even your own allies
--> but i wonder also a long time if this option is worth it... if i want to # my allies i could leave the alliance and then rejoin.... the fun of the possibility to attack alliance member isnt by far worth the wooriing of doing it by accident

Well, i know that i have attacked and been attack being in attack stance and i know the attacker was in the attack stance. I've also had a fleet by my base fleet on attack stance, base is always defense stance, and have had fleets come in and hit both my fleets, so that matching stance thing isn't right. The only time they don't attack is when they are all on defense.

Attack+Attack=Attack
Attack+Defense=Attack
Defense+Defense=Defense

it is added mow, that alliance members don't fight against each other so easily.

the new thing is the alliance-attack code:
the leader can set it in his headquarters and all alliance members that have this code as an attack code in their fleet do NOT fight against other alliance members that have their fleet on defense (like the base for example)
so you don`t have to change the attack code every time you want to use an alliance planet as a transwarpgate.

i will post this also in the announcements

and now if the two players are in the same alliance:
Alliance-Attackcode + Defense = Defense

@ admin you've out done your self this time this is a, well needed and welcomed add on to the game. now alliance mates can work better with each other, with out fear of mess ups from there mates and the leaders will not having to worry if a newer member of a alliance isn't on the right code Thanks

Well, why if both fleets are on attack, they don't attack each other? They both want to get some.

imagine the situation you want to attack the bad guy's base and anotherplayer wants that at the same time. both attackers dont want to cease their attacks by fighting against each other. so attack + attack = peace....

Yeah, that makes sense that way, so you can stack attack fleets against someone.

Ok, I started this thread somewhere else and got a reply link that led me here.

This is my question:

I was told to give the alliance code to just my trusted members (kinda hard to know always who to trust when I don't know the majority of the games players, but that aside) if I give that code to some members and not to others, then what true use is it? I can just tell them to use a certain code at a certain location or during a certain attack.

Wouldn't it be better if all fleets in the alliance automatically received that code, and therefore could not attack each other? Then if we wanted to coordinate an attack with another alliance, we could use a different code on our individual fleets that would allow us to work together(without risking an inner-alliance battle)....It can be done the way it is now, but the chances for errors and friendly fire are much greater.

I for one don't need to attack my fellow alliance members....

i think like an alliance member with the assigned attack code on wont attack the fleet of another alliance member even if theirs is in defense mode. not sure where i saw this though

And speaking of that - how does the alliance-attack-code affect the MTWG

the mtwg is not part of your alliance - this is on out ToDo list
but its not so easy, so be sure to be on defense when you use it

the alliance attack-code will not be given to all fleets automatically, cause we want to keep an open option for spies in the game

but i think we had this discussion before?
